Over 10 years ago while serving in a middle management position Karen was about to present a strategic plan to several male managers. She eventually came to recognize the “power of highheels. “

Karen’s workshops and keynotes are geared toward the unique challenges of women in the workplace. She believes, the playing field may not be level as yet but with the right tools women can achieve at the same level as men.

reminder: If women’s ideas aren’t heard, it can make it harder for them to be perceived as key contributors, which can harm their career progression.

When teams miss out on women’s insights, it can also mean your company is missing out. Teams that foster diverse points of view often have better ideas and get more done.

Burn out is not a requirement to be successful…

Burnout isn’t a badge of honor; it’s a warning sign. If you’re feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or just plain done, it’s time to stop pushing and start prioritizing your well-being. You owe it to yourself to not just survive, but to thrive. Here’s how:

1. Admit You’re Burnt Out – Stop pretending you’re “just tired.” You’re running on empty, and it’s time to face it.

2. Prioritize Sleep – You can’t live on caffeine. Get real rest—your brain needs it.

3. Set Boundaries – Saying “yes” to everything isn’t heroic; it’s draining. Learn to say “no” without guilt.

4. Find What You Enjoy (or Tolerate) – Start small. Focus on the things that don’t make you miserable.

5. Ask for Help – You don’t have to be a one-person show. Delegation isn’t weakness.

6. Move Your Body – Exercise clears your mind. It’s hard to feel stuck when you’re in motion.

7. Eat Better – Fuel your body with real food. Your brain will thank you.

8. Let It Out – Release the pressure. It’s okay to lose it (in private), then move forward.

9. Get Professional Help If Needed – If nothing’s working, talk to a pro. No shame in that.

10. You’re Human, Not a Machine – You can’t do everything, and that’s fine. Take a break and come back stronger.

Final Thought: You’re not just here to survive—you’re here to thrive. Take care of yourself first, and watch how everything else follows.

Communication is the key.

Leaders,
There's a reason why the word "confrontation" seems soooo negative: Because we, ourselves, have worked up a narrative that the communication needed in a situation will be difficult or combatative; therefore it becomes a "confrontation".
In reality, we have "ASSUMED" that narrative. Just go communicate with people. Communicate with your Team. Communicate the needs of the business.
Stop assuming what MIGHT happen and then the uncomfortable discussion just becomes communication between people.
