Today, we taxi down the runway for one final departure—Barry’s last day at work before he soars off into retirement. 🛫

Barry Baker, our reliable and steadfast Quality Director, has spent years making sure every standard was met, every inspection passed, and every team member (mostly) stayed sane. From SOPs, audits, training, and every aviation regulation known to mankind, he’s been the sharp eye and steady hand behind the scenes—keeping things running smoother than a perfectly balanced turbine.

He’s been our go-to guy for tough calls, tougher conversations, and, of course, those very Barry one-liners that always came in just under the sarcasm radar.

Barry, we’re going to miss your leadership, your dry wit, your uncanny ability to spot a noncompliant detail from a mile away.

Company Description

FTair is a privately owned and operated FAA/EASA Certified Repair Station located in Memphis, Tennessee. With over 300 years of combined aircraft maintenance experience, our organization covers all facets of aviation, from business aviation maintenance to 747 heavy checks and helicopter restoration. Our diverse capabilities include avionics, sheet metal, composites, NDT, and component overhaul, ensuring we can confidently handle any job. As an authorized Service Center for Daher TBM, Cessna 208 Caravan, PS Engineering, Mid-Continent and Garmin, we provide large maintenance facility capabilities with the attention to detail of a small Repair Station.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Avionics Technician located in the Memphis Metropolitan Area. The Avionics Technician will be responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks that include interpreting wiring diagrams, troubleshooting aircraft systems, and conducting maintenance and repair activities. The technician will ensure all work is completed in compliance with FAA and EASA regulations.

Qualifications

Proficient at installing, troubleshooting and maintaining all Garmin Systems
Proficiency in interpreting Wiring Diagrams
In-depth knowledge of Aircraft Systems and Aircraft Maintenance
Skilled in Troubleshooting and Maintenance & Repair
Attention to detail and ability to follow regulations and standards
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., FAA A&P license) are a plus
