✈️ Travel Tip Tuesday: What to Pack in Your Carry-On! ✈️

You never want to deal with delayed or lost luggage… but if it happens, having the right items in your carry-on can be a total trip-saver!

Here’s what I always recommend packing in your carry-on bag:

🔌 Phone charger + portable battery
🍬 Snacks (because hangry travelers are no fun)
💊 Any essential medications (always keep these with you!)
🪥 Travel-sized toiletries like a toothbrush, deodorant, and wipes
👕 A clean change of clothes and underwear
💻 Valuables like your laptop, camera, or jewelry
🧸 Comfort items for kids or sensory tools if you or your travel companions are neurodivergent
📝 Printed copies of important documents (like hotel confirmations or travel insurance info)

Basically, anything you can’t afford to be without for 24–48 hours should come in the cabin with you.

🙃 You might’ve seen the headlines about norovirus on a cruise ship recently. It sounds dramatic, but let’s put it into perspective:

🛳 Around 140 people got sick—that’s less than 3% of the people onboard.

🌍 In 2024, over 34 million people cruised worldwide. Of those, only 0.0059% reported norovirus.

That’s incredibly rare.

Don’t let clickbait scare you off! Cruising is still one of the safest and cleanest ways to travel. I help families, couples, and groups cruise all the time, and it continues to be one of my most popular (and personally favorite!) ways to see the world.

💡 I always recommend travel protection—it can cover onboard medical care and often helps with future cruise credits or reimbursements if illness happens.

Bottom line: Cruising is still an amazing, fun, and worry-free way to vacation. Just pack a little hand sanitizer and go enjoy the sunshine! ☀️⚓

While this photo of Walt Disney wasn’t taken on the official opening day — July 17, 1955 — it captures a quiet, powerful moment just before history was made.

Here he is, sitting alone on a bench in the nearly finished Disneyland, surrounded by the early whispers of what would soon become The Happiest Place on Earth.

In that moment, his dream was on the verge of becoming reality. Years of imagination, risk, and relentless determination had brought him to this point. But the big question lingered:

Here’s a simple trick that can save you a huge headache if your checked luggage ever goes missing:

👉 Put a copy of your contact info inside your suitcase!

Yes, those luggage tags on the outside are helpful—but they can get ripped off in transit. Including a paper with your name, phone number, email, and destination address inside your bag gives the airline a backup way to reunite you with your luggage quickly.

You can even go the extra mile and include a copy of your full itinerary, especially if you’re moving around during your trip!

✍️ Pro tip: Tuck the info right on top of your clothes or slide it into a clear zip-top bag for extra visibility.

Trust me—this is one of those little things that can make a big difference.
