🌳 Heads Up! Free Fun Weekend is Coming Soon 🥾🎣
June 7–8, 2025

If you’ve been thinking about visiting Devil’s Lake State Park, biking a Wisconsin State Trail, or trying your luck fishing, mark your calendar.

For one weekend only, no park admission fees, no trail passes, and no fishing licenses are required anywhere in Wisconsin. It’s all part of the DNR’s annual Free Fun Weekend, and this year also marks the 125th anniversary of the Wisconsin State Park System.

That means:
• 🚗 Free entry at Devil’s Lake and about 120 other properties.
• 🚲 Free use of the Great Sauk State Trail, the 400 State Trail, and others
• 🎣 Free fishing (no license or stamp required)

The full weekend runs Saturday & Sunday, June 7–8, with events, activities, and even beginner fishing clinics happening across the state.

The Sauk Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with the Village of Merrimac to enhance the community with new wayfinding signage and vibrant banners. These improvements are part of our ongoing effort to support and beautify the area.

A special thank you to Bernie and Susan Poff, owners of Polliwog Studio, whose creativity and expertise have made this project seamless. The new signage truly stands out and adds a fresh energy to the village.

And there’s more to come—stay tuned for exciting news about a major new project along the lakefront!

It’s always a great day to be on Lake Wisconsin, and today, Bernie has one of the best views around.
