FRIENDS HAVING FUN IN ARUBA ☀️🌊

Many of my clients come to me through referrals, and I’m so thankful when past clients or friends recommend my services to someone they know.

That’s exactly how this group found me! They had heard about trips I planned for others they worked with and reached out. From the start, this was a “friend group” vacation with a preference for Aruba.

Planning a trip with friends should be fun, not a full-time job! Since they had never been to Aruba, we explored the island’s different areas, beaches and resorts to find the right fit.

📍 WHERE THEY WENT:
RIU Antillas | Aruba

Hotel Riu Palace Antillas is a lively, adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Aruba’s popular Palm Beach area. With a beautiful beachfront location, multiple pools, restaurants, bars and nearby nightlife, it’s a great choice for a group getaway. They also opted for Elite Club status, which includes access to a dedicated pool, bar and restaurant.

⏰ HOW LONG WERE THEY AWAY: 7 nights

💰 TRAVEL BUDGET: Approximately $7,000

✨ WHAT MADE THIS TRIP SPECIAL:

Their week included dune buggy adventures, snorkeling, relaxing by the pool, beautiful beaches and spectacular sunsets. With Elite Club perks and plenty of time to enjoy each other’s company, it was the perfect combination of adventure, relaxation and quality time with great friends.

Trips that are on my desk — vacations I’m planning for my clients.

🌍 WHERE ARE THEY GOING?

These clients are taking their first-ever river cruise. When they contacted me, they wanted a river cruise this fall, with a preference for Viking. This was a bit of a challenge as river cruises tend to book well in advance. Thankfully, I found them a cancelation on Viking – and from there I got to work on the rest.

They will begin their journey in Amsterdam, cruise through The Netherlands, Germany and France, and disembark in Basel, Switzerland.

In addition to the cruise, they also wanted to experience more of the countries they were visiting. I helped by planning a pre- and post-cruise extension to make the entire trip seamless.

✈️ WHAT DID I TAKE CARE OF?

Before the cruise:

✈️ Arranged travel to Amsterdam
🚗 Private transfer from the airport to Amsterdam hotel
🏨 Booked two nights at Amsterdam hotel
🚗 Private transfer from the hotel to the cruise port
After the cruise:

🏨 One night in Basel – booked hotel
🚆 Train tickets from Basel to Lucerne
🏨 Two nights hotel in Lucerne
🚆 Train tickets from Lucerne to Zurich Airport

My job, as their travel advisor, is to look at the entire trip — not just the cruise — and make sure all the pieces fit together.

From finding a hard-to-get cancellation on their preferred cruise line, to arranging private transfers, hotels, trains, and destination recommendations, I take care of the details so my clients can focus on what really matters:

HONEYMOON AT LIVE AQUA PUNTA CANA 💍

Every couple has a different vision for their honeymoon, and this couple knew exactly what they wanted: a beautiful all-inclusive resort, time to relax and be pampered, and a swim-out room that was a must!

They also had a specific budget to work with, so my goal was to find a resort that delivered the experience they were hoping for, with direct flight options, while staying within their budget.

📍 WHERE THEY WENT:
Live Aqua Punta Cana | Dominican Republic 🇩🇴

⏰ HOW LONG:
7 nights

💰 TRAVEL BUDGET:
Approximately $6,000

✨ WHAT MADE THIS TRIP SPECIAL:
Live Aqua is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort with a beautiful beachfront setting, multiple pools, specialty dining, spa services, entertainment, and accommodations designed with couples in mind. Their Aqua Junior Suite Swim-Up Pool View gave them the swim-out experience that was at the top of their honeymoon wish list.

💼 HOW I HELPED:
✔️ Researched and compared resort options
✔️ Found a swim-out room that fit their vision and budget
✔️ Worked within their overall budget, including accommodations, flights, and transfers
✔️ Answered questions about the destination and excursions
✔️ Helped with questions about safety, currency, packing, and immigration forms
✔️ Made sure they felt prepared and confident before leaving home

And now, while I am here in the Dominican Republic conducting resort site inspections, I had the opportunity to tour Live Aqua Punta Cana—the very resort where they ultimately stayed! I texted the client and she immediately sent me some pictures from their fabulous trip to share with you all!

Punta Cana — First Impressions!

I have been here for about 6 hours. I can already say this destination is making a great first impression!

Punta Cana is fairly large, with resort areas spread out. Location is something to consider when planning your vacation. I was also surprised by the roads and infrastructure. Compared to some other areas of the Caribbean, the roads are fairly well-developed.

Our host resort for the first two nights is Secrets Royal Beach, which is about a 30- minute transfer from the airport. No windy roads, and no traffic.

The resort is on Bavaro Beach, which is beautiful. This area is known for having one of the best overall stretches of beaches in Punta Cana. Think soft white sand, palm trees, swimming, and long walks along the shore.

Secrets Royal Beach is a couples-only resort, while its sister property, Dreams Royal Beach, is family-friendly resort, located right next door. The two resorts are connected, making it easy to walk between them and enjoy the shared amenities. While children are not permitted at Secrets, guests staying at Secrets can enjoy the pools, restaurants, and bars at Dreams as well. The beach connection between the two resorts makes for an especially beautiful and enjoyable walk!

Our rooms are in the “Preferred Club”, which include some great extras:
-Private check-in
-Dedicated lounge with food and a full-service bar
-A private beach area with chairs, a private bar, and a private restaurant
-Private pools, including a lazy river
-Room service
-Daily restocked snacks and beverages in the room.
-A butler on call

The resort is very nice. The rooms are spacious and include a king bed, a beautiful bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a large patio with a jacuzzi tub.

The welcome touches were also impressive - fruit plate, chilled ch*****ne, and a private overview of the resort and all its amenities.

We are scheduled to see five resorts tomorrow – I will keep you updated!

Aruba’s dining scene is diverse 🍽️ from casual beach bites to refined island cuisine. You’ll find flavors ranging from fresh Caribbean seafood to international fusion and local favorites. A long-standing favorite is the Flying Fishbone 🐠 dining in the water with your toes in the sand. We enjoyed delicious cocktails 🍸, fresh and flavorful fish, surf & turf (the tenderloin melted in our mouths), and finished with chocolate ravioli for dessert - YUMMY!!
