Hotel rooms in Europe are typically on the small side. Our room in Ischia was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and had a wonderful towel warmer. The terrace was amazing and we enjoyed it very much! How can you not with views of the castle and Mt Vesuvious.

What a castle!! We explored Aragonese Castle that sits on a small tidal island east of Ischia. This was a major highlight of our stay in Ischia. After climbing over 1,000 steps I felt no guilt having pizza and gelato afterwards 😁.

candidtip- There is an elevator that will take you to the top and you can walk down to see everything.

Have you heard of Ischia? Pronounced ees-kee-ah, took me a while to get it right 😄. A beautiful island in the Gulf of Naples, near Capri. We spent four nights on this special island.

It is best known for it's thermal springs. Most hotels have thermal spas and there are 2 thermal parks. They use thermal waters that naturally emerge from underground volcanic sources that are rich in minerals.

If you are looking for an authentic, less expensive stay in Italy, Ischia might be a good fit. Follow us for more on our trip to Italy!

Lisbon has very distinct areas to explore. Alfama is one of the oldest sections of Lisbon. You can take a tram up the hill for spectacular views. Chiado is the modern section, rebuilt after a fire in 1998.

You may not have heard much about Explora, but you will, as they are amazing and this will not stay a secret long!!! This is a perfect option for those who want luxury with out stuffiness at a great price. You can even work (if you have to) with excellent internet!

Explora Journeys Dining- I wondered if there would be enough options with 4 main dinner restaurants but there was plenty! Great food, different specials each night and the Market Place always has first class options if you want more casual or something small because you already ate so much during the day 😁

Love that there is indoor and outdoor options. I enjoyed Pilates class on the Technogym equipment and the track. One of the nicer tracks, especially for the smaller size of the ship. With larger cabins you can even get a workout in the privacy of your suite.

I have to admit I was lazier than I typically am at home, oh well it is vacation 😄

Explora Emporium Market Place was excellent everyday, but the Sunday Brunch was over the top. This is just part of what was offered from 9:30am-2pm. Best seafood options at sea!!
