Self-compassion entails treating oneself with kindness and care, like we would treat a dear friend.
Self compassion is composed by three main components:
- Self-kindness
The ability of being loving and understanding towards ourselves
- Mindfulness
Being able to evaluate situations and instances critically, with reason and being able to be present in the moment
- Common Humanity
The idea that nobody is flawless and everyone makes mistakes
Self compassion allows us to navigate towards self care, improved overall happiness and well being.
