Pend Oreille Regional Tourism Alliance -PORTA. would like to extend the upmost gratitude to Christian Meador and Shelton Coonfield.

Mr. Meador and Mrs. Coonfield who were PORTA’s Board President and Vice President have stepped down. Their tireless commitment and efforts will be missed.

PORTA’s board is made up of volunteer residents and business owners who have a passion for supporting Pend Oreille recreation and tourism economy.

Kelly Flanagan has been elected the new Board President, and Melanie Kiss has been elected the new Board Vice President. Both are eager to continue promoting a responsible tourism economy in supportive ways to encourage the local lifestyle and environment of Pend Oreille County.

PORTA’s Board Secretary position is still open. The Executive Director position will be taking applications very soon. If you would like to become a member of PORTA, go to their website porta.us or email [email protected].

2024 looks to be an exciting year for PORTA, the Metaline Falls Bigfoot Festival is Father’s Day weekend June 15th and 16th 2024. We look forward to working with everyone in the county to help promote our wonderful area

#251 - Admire the colors of fall along the International Selkirk Loop. This scenic byway is located in Northeast Washington, and crosses into Canada and Idaho to form a loop drive. There are many things to see along this route, and fall is the perfect time to explore. A kaleidoscope of yellow, orange, red and green await in this pristine corner of the state. Today is the day! Affair on Fourth Avenue is happening, come join in on the fun! The American Legion post #144 Metaline Falls is holding a Fish Fry, Co****le tournament, and local vendors will be setting up.

Get ready for an exciting day filled with fun, food, and music at American Legion Post 144! We are hosting an affair on Fourth Avenue on Saturday, September 2nd, and you won't want to miss it.

We're kicking off the festivities with a co****le tournament from 10am to 5pm. Test your skills and compete for prizes! Then, satisfy your appetite with our delicious fish fry from 12pm to 5pm, featuring mouth-watering fish or hamburgers with fries and coleslaw for just 10.00.

But the entertainment doesn't stop there! We're thrilled to have Shedroof Divide performing live from 1pm to 4pm. Sit back, relax, and enjoy their awesome music.

And that's not all we're also holding a Forgotten Corner Quilters raffle for just 1.00, with the drawing taking place at 3pm. Plus, we're having a 5050 drawing, so come out for your chance to win big!

Craft vendors are welcome, and we're inviting the public to join us for this incredible day. We'll also have an American Legion membership drive, so you can learn more about becoming a member of this fantastic organization.
