It was a 3 day weekend and all I got done was some landscaping. The rock the landscaping company delivered was full of mud and sand. I basically had to hand-wash every rock. We still have a bit to go, but I think it's looking pretty good.

Rain, rain, and more rain! I’m definitely getting tired of it. Still, I can’t complain too much—we’ve managed to stay productive despite the weather. Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve accomplished over the past few weeks:

* Walkway: More mortaring on the steps
* Started repairing the Northwest column/wall junction
* Started adding decortive rock on the Southwest hill. We also had to replace some plants that didn't survive their transplanting
* Shingled the West side of the Gazebo
* Repaired a big gap on the main stairs
* Planted another 2m of pavers alone the N/S drive

It's been a rainy month, so there's not a lot to report. The entire South area of the popery was flooded. On the plus side, it doesn't stick around long.

* More work on Windows
* Created a bar to mount a toolbox on the tractor
* Tore apart & clean the air compressor. A bee started a nest in the main valve
* Spread out some waste rock in a wash to help with water erosion
* Smoothed out and sorted more rocks on the East hill
* Picked up another bag of trash from 52
* Walkway:
** Capped the Northeast column
** Mortared more area between the rocks

I took a couple days off of work and move a monster amount of rock. It rained on Sunday, so I fixed the heater and worked on windows. Other than that, I cut more undergrowth and moved rocks. Full list:
* Pick up trash about half way down 52
* Figured it out why I didn't have heat for 2 weeks: Inductor switch vacuum line was plugged. V/O meter FTW!
* Windows
* Southwest hill by driveway: Sorted and moved rock
* East hill:
** Cut undergrowth & trimmed trees
** Smoothed rock piles
** Blew out the leaves & dirt
** Stacked rock to cover empty areas
** Moved the round rock to the driveway pile

Another month and we're almost to spring. The last month was wet and cold, but there was a lot of work done. I've made several piles of brush which I will chip up soon.

Here's the list:
* North side undergrowth cleanup along the neighbor's fence
* Added a spigot to the secondary pump
* 52 & West valley clean up
** Clear all the undergrowth along 52
** Moved a lot of rock to the driveway pile

A whole month of windows! Since it's been stupid cold and there's inches of snow on the ground, I've been inside. Removing old glazing, scraping paint, sanding, and cutting glass.

The only other news: the water pipe was frozen, so it was a good time to replace the secondary pump's pressure switch with a digital version.

The last couple weeks were almost exculsively spent working out in the rain & mud cutting, splitting, and stacking firewood. I also spent a few hours fighting chainsaws until I gave up
and bought a new STIHL from our Brookville dealer. I can't believe all of this wood fit in that tiny shed. Here's the full list:

* Dropped a handful of dead or damaged trees
* Cut up the downed and storm-damaged trees
* Rented a wood splitter to finish the firewood
* Stacked the firewood in the Woodshed
* Moved 2 decorative, carved, limestone pieces from the front road pile to a more secure spot
* Cleaned up a bunch of undergrowth around the property
* More work on the windows when it gets dark

Not again! Work and the Rock House has kept me super busy. No more excuses here's the list:

Driveway East wall:
* Cut in half & placed a handful of blocks to make the downward wall stepping more gradual
* Poured concrete on the outside footer. This will keep the water away from the retaining wall.
* Started placing driveway rocks. I am liking how this looks!
* Poured concrete for corner sidewalk drain. There's a lot of water that comes off the sidewalk, so I added an extra drain

Yard:
* Blew the leaves from around the house, barn, and driveways
* Stacked logs that need to be split next to the wood shed
* Cleaned the leaves & sticks from the barn roof
* Removed a basketball pole on the North side
* Picked up tons of rock from around the property. I've been piling these at driveway entrance
* Removed old landscaping plants & rocks around the North light pole

US 52 Bridge:
* Picked up a several loose rocks and sticks around the old 52 Bridge
* Cut or burnt the undergrown
* Blew the leaves away
* Moved the loose wall pieces
* Piled the flat rocks for use on walkways & walls
* Moved other usable rocks to the driveway entrance
* Smoothed out the remaining dirt

Landscaping:
* The plants on the South hill were not done correctly. I pulled them up, broke up the root ball, and reburied them deeper
* Covered the hill with blocking material

Misc:
* More window cleanup
* Finished wall repair on the West porch

Just over a month since the last post, but the retaining wall on the East driveway is done! I have one more retaining wall to do next Spring and then we'll cover all the retaining walls with veneer rock.

Also, thanks to Whitetail Acres for landscaping the Southeast hill.

The driveway's East wall is well underway. Given the steps and the curve, this one is really tricky. I also buried the West porch gutter drain pipe and hook the rest of the drain pipes together. One for gutters and one for a French drain.

The concrete steps on the North-South driveway are just about done and I started placing block on the first step. I should be able to get the retaining wall done before it gets too cold.
