Okay, THIS is the kind of upgrade where I completely understand choosing the cabin for one feature.

That aft view.

I could absolutely picture ordering something to drink, getting comfortable outside, and watching the wake behind the ship while we're sailing.

You still get plenty of the Rockstar touches inside, although we need to have a conversation about that bathroom privacy situation just so expectations are set. 😉

The balcony would be the reason I'd remember this cabin.

If you're someone who actually uses your balcony instead of stepping outside twice and forgetting it exists, this is one I'd want you to see before choosing your Virgin Voyages cabin.

I've had trips where I walked into a place I'd heard SO much about and thought… wait, this is it? 😅

Waikiki Beach was one of those moments for me.

I'd seen it in photos forever. It’s hyped up on social media by influencers. It's one of the most recognizable beaches in Hawaii, so somewhere along the way I'd built up this idea of how much we would love it without ever considering our normal travel style.

Then we explored more of Oʻahu, outside of Waikiki, and found the Hawaii that we love.

Waikiki hadn't changed. Due to social media hype, we had simply arrived expecting it to give us something that wasn't really what it's known for.

I think about that a lot when I'm helping someone choose where to go.

A beautiful resort can disappoint you. An incredible destination can feel underwhelming.

Sometimes all that happened was that what you pictured and what you showed up to were two different trips.

I get this question a LOT, and my answer depends on what you mean by “best.” 😅

This is one of those travel decisions where knowing your priorities matters more than finding a perfect month on Google.

Maybe you're willing to spend more if it gives you a better chance of beautiful weather. Maybe you'd happily take the tradeoff if traveling during another period gives you better value.

Neither choice is wrong.

I just want you to know what you're choosing before we book the trip.

So when you're deciding when to travel, start with what matters most to you. That's usually where your true “best time to go” is hiding.
