Gator Park Airboat Tours — Back When It Was Just Us & The Glades

No filters. No reservations. No “content days.”
Just a loud engine, open water, and miles of wild Florida.

This was back when airboats didn’t whisper—they roared.
When you showed up, hopped on, and held on.
When the guides knew every inch of the Glades… and probably every gator by name.

No phones in the air—just wind in your face.
No crowds—just you, the boat, and whatever was watching from the grass 👀🐊

Different times… same wild spirit.

Great news—Gator Park will reopen tomorrow!

We had a little too much free time the past few days (basically became fire-watching professionals), but the response has been incredible. Huge thanks to the National Park Service fire teams and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for their outstanding work, along with everyone who helped get things under control—we truly appreciate it.

Fire Update:
We may be able to reopen on 4/30 in the afternoon

An active wildfire is currently burning in the area, and conditions remain subject to rapid change.
We get it—it doesn’t always look dramatic from far away. But wind + dry conditions = things can change very fast.
That’s exactly why the National Park Service closed the area until further notice.
We’ll keep you posted and answer questions.
And no, this isn’t some grand conspiracy to cancel plans—it’s just professionals doing their job so we all stay safe.

The fire continues to be active. Ground resources are initiating firing operations from Gator Park to the east towards Coopertown. National Park Service has a lot of resources out there and they continue to use a full suppression strategy with Miami Dade County by their side for any potential structural fires.
The developed areas associated with operations of Gator Park Airboat Tours, Everglades Safari Park and Coopertown Airboat Tours will be closed until further notice due to predicted weather conditions and active fire behavior. Additionally, the area between the L-67 Canal to the West and the L-31 Canal to the East from Highway 41 South to one mile North of Mahogany Hammock will be closed to all public entry. To ensure firefighter and public safety, this closure includes all parking lots, facilities, and navigable waterways within these areas.

Official Statement from Gator Park

Today, three individuals identifying themselves as YouTubers entered the park and attempted to film content involving close interaction with wild alligators. This included actions that are strictly prohibited within a protected area of Everglades National Park.

For clarity: wild animals in a national park are not props, and approaching or attempting to touch them is both unsafe and illegal. Our staff intervened immediately to protect both guests and wildlife.

The individuals—one wearing an ankle monitor and another notably equipped with a Spider-Man blanket—were advised of park regulations and escorted off the premises.

We welcome content creators, guests, and visitors from all backgrounds. However, participation in the park comes with one simple requirement: respect the environment, the wildlife, and the people around you.

Thank you to our team for handling the situation calmly and professionally, and to our guests who came to enjoy what the Everglades is actually known for—real Florida nature, safely experienced. 🐊

It is not $100, fortunately.
