Standing alone against the moss-covered lava fields of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Búðakirkja-better known as the Black Church of Búðir-feels almost like something out of a storybook.

A church has stood at Búðir since 1703, while the beautiful wooden church we see today was rebuilt in 1848 through the determination of local woman Steinunn Sveinsdóttir. It has since become one of Iceland’s most photographed churches, and it’s easy to see why.

The contrast of the tiny black church, bright white trim, endless lava fields, and Icelandic landscape makes this one of those places that photographs simply can’t fully capture.

Today was the perfect blend of movement, relaxation, and Icelandic beauty! 🇮🇸💙

Our Juniper Tours + Breathe Yoga + Lakehouse Skin Wellness Retreat spent the day at the breathtaking Hvammsvík, beginning with a beautiful yoga practice inside a stunning Icelandic barn. 🧘🏻‍♀️✨

There’s something pretty magical about slowing down, connecting with yourself, and practicing yoga surrounded by such incredible scenery.

After yoga, it was time to unwind in the geothermal hot springs, soak in the peaceful surroundings, and simply enjoy the moment. ♨️🌿 And, of course, we topped it all off with a delicious lunch!

A beautiful place, wonderful people, and a day dedicated to feeling good. What a wonderful day! 💙

Today, we spent the day soaking in the incredible Blue Lagoon, surrounded by Iceland’s otherworldly landscapes, before ending the evening with a beautiful yoga practice. There really couldn’t be a better way to finish the day-peaceful, restorative, and completely present in the moment. 💙

A little relaxation, a little adventure, and a whole lot of Icelandic beauty. This is what a wellness retreat should feel like.

🌍 Three trips. So many memories. One very special Juniper duo.

There’s something extra special about travelers who keep coming back-and these incredible repeat travelers just completed their third unforgettable trip with Juniper Tours! 🇭🇷✨

This time, they set off to explore Croatia, traveling from coast to coast and soaking up everything this beautiful country has to offer. From stunning seaside towns and crystal-clear waters to incredible food, culture, and unforgettable moments along the way, it sounds like they had an absolutely amazing adventure!

We are so incredibly grateful that they continue to trust us with their travels and allow us to be a small part of their adventures. Thank you for being such a special part of the Juniper Tours family.

How far ahead would you book a trip that only works for ten days a year?

That is cherry blossom season. The window moves annually and the ryokan worth staying in are committed eighteen months out, so booking it reactively does not work.

Ours is booked, guided and handled: April 5-16, 2027, from $7,850 per person. Twenty guests, one guide.

Blossoms in spring, or maples in autumn — which would you pick?

“The team at Juniper, starting with Taryn and then Jhonas, were excellent in coordinating our trip to Ireland. They were great to work with in early planning stages, having to consider best touring options for a multi-generational family and within our budget. We really enjoyed the hotels they selected, the drivers were excellent and it all became an incredible memorable experience. In the weeks before the trip, Jhonas helped answer last minute questions and accommodated a group prep call. While we were in Ireland, Jhonas was always available for questions and helped sort a few changes that came up along the way. 10/10 recommend and if we’re looking to plan another family trip of this level, we’ll definitely turn back to Juniper.”

Some trips are unforgettable not because everything goes perfectly, but because of the memories made along the way. ❤️

A huge thank you to our wonderful repeat travelers for trusting Juniper Tours once again-this time with an incredible adventure to the Azores! While the weather didn’t always cooperate and a few of the breathtaking island views stayed hidden behind the clouds, that certainly didn’t stop this amazing couple from embracing every moment, exploring, and falling in love with Portugal’s beauty, culture, and warm hospitality.

Travel is about so much more than perfect weather-it’s about the experiences, the people you meet, and the memories you create together.
