A room should feel just as beautiful from table 15 as it does from the head table.

That’s why we design with dimension in mind: layering florals, candlelight, hanging installations, and varied heights throughout the space to create a guest experience that feels cohesive from every angle.

The result is a reception that feels warm, welcoming, and alive long before the first dance begins.

Some weddings are remembered for perfect weather.

Others are remembered because the weather didn’t matter.

It rained all day at Arrow Park. The ceremony moved under a clear tent, surrounded by layered florals, flowering branches, and a garden-inspired palette designed to feel as though it had naturally grown into the landscape. And somehow, the rain made everything feel even more intimate and romantic.

One of my favorite things about this wedding wasn’t the floral arch or the aisle flowers. It was watching two people stay fully present in the middle of a day that could have easily felt stressful. They trusted the process, trusted the team around them, and focused on what mattered most: getting married.

Rainy wedding. Full hearts. Beautiful outcome.

POV: It’s raining all day and you’re responsible for getting the entire floral production across the finish line.

At that point, I’m not just a floral designer.

I’m leading a team.
Making decisions.
Adjusting timelines.
Protecting the guest experience.
Solving problems before anyone else knows they exist.

The flowers are the final product.

Leadership is what gets them there.

It rained all day.

For this wedding at Arrow Park, the ceremony was taking place outdoors under a tent while the reception was located elsewhere on the property. That meant constantly monitoring weather conditions, protecting floral installations from wind and moisture, coordinating team movement between locations, adjusting setup timelines, transporting materials safely, and ensuring every design element was ready exactly when it needed to be.

This is where experience becomes invaluable.

Beautiful weddings aren’t defined by perfect weather. They’re defined by having a team that can adapt, problem-solve, and make thoughtful decisions in real time without compromising the overall vision.

By the time guests arrived, they saw a romantic ceremony, a seamless transition into the reception, and a celebration that felt effortless.

What they didn’t see was the planning, coordination, and production required to make that happen despite the rain.

And that’s exactly the point.

My process for floral runners is: focusing on a layered design:

1) Flower recipe: where each bloom has a purpose; mass (to cover the most area), focal (to get your attention), specialty (to add whimsy), line (to add height) complementing (to bring everything together).

2) Texture: absolutely love creating textural moments, it adds visual interest.

3) Color: selecting the ratios for each color to create the perfect harmony between our primary colors, our bridge tones and our accents.

The result: bringing a romantic overgrown garden from the outside, in.

Bride POV: “I forgot this wedding was even supposed to be outside”.

And somehow, that perfectly captured this entire day.

It rained from morning through evening, forcing constant adjustments, room transitions, production changes, and a full ceremony-to-reception flip inside Brooklyn Botanic Garden. But what our couple and their guests experienced was a celebration that still felt warm, romantic, layered, and seamless from beginning to end.

From the ceremony florals and candlelit reception to the custom favors, late-night bites, outfit change, and final moments of the evening, every part of this wedding was approached with intention and coordination behind the scenes.

When weather shifts and timelines tighten, it’s no longer just about beautiful flowers or decor, it becomes about leadership, communication, teamwork, and knowing how to protect the experience while still bringing the vision to life.

This wedding will always stay with me because despite the rain, the room flip, and the constant pivots throughout the day, the celebration never lost its softness. It still felt elegant, emotional, and deeply connected to the couple from the first walk down the aisle to the final candlelit moments of the night.
krouse I am beyond honored to have walked this journey with you, and I will miss you. 💛

It rained all on wedding day, the kind of weather that forces adjustments, backup plans, timing shifts, and quick decision-making behind the scenes.

Because the ceremony and reception shared the same space, nothing in the reception could be fully completed until after the ceremony ended, leaving less than a 35 minute window for florals, candles, and final design details to come together before guests arrived.

What guests experienced was a romantic candlelit reception inside Brooklyn Botanic Garden. What happened behind the scenes was nonstop

teamwork, production, and coordination to keep the experience feeling seamless despite the weather and fast room flip. By the time guests entered the reception, the space felt warm, layered, and effortless… exactly how it was meant to feel.

Designed with dimension in mind, this reception layered floral runners, elevated centerpieces, and compote arrangements throughout the space to create movement and visual balance from every angle.

Estate tables were lined with lush floral cascades, while guest tables alternated between elevated designs and low garden-style compositions paired with textured glass candles, floaters and tapers, a focus on candlelight to bring warmth into the glass conservatory after sunset.

The result was a reception that felt immersive, romantic, and intentionally layered without ever feeling repetitive.

Glass conservatory ceremonies will always have my heart.

For this wedding, we designed a fully grounded floral aisle layered blooms to soften the architecture of the space while still allowing the conservatory to speak for itself. The goal was to bring the outdoors in and create a ceremony design that felt immersive, intentional, and romantic from every angle especially the walk down the aisle.
