This past Sunday, we had a fantastic time at Middlesex Chamber Day with the Hartford Yard Goats! ⚾

Chamber members came together to enjoy an exciting day of baseball, networking, and community connection in a fun and lively atmosphere.

A special thank you to the Hartford Yard Goats team for their outstanding coordination—and to all our attendees for making it another memorable Chamber event!

We’re excited to share a major milestone in the future of our Chamber! Our building will soon undergo a full-scale renovation to better serve our members and the community!!

Here’s what you need to know:
• The Chamber office will be closed the week of July 21–25 as our staff packs and moves.
• Starting the week of July 28, we’ll be operating out of a temporary location at 318 High Street, (a Wesleyan University building) in Middletown
• We expect to be based at 318 High Street for approximately one year while construction is underway.

We are deeply grateful to Wesleyan University for their generous support in making this temporary move possible. Their partnership and willingness to work with us has been instrumental in ensuring we can continue to serve our members without interruption.

This renovation marks an exciting chapter for the Chamber. The improvements to our building will help us better accommodate events, meetings, and member services, and ensure we remain a strong, central hub for our business community for years to come.

A special shoutout to our Chamber Building Committee: Scotty Brown, Harry Burr, Dominick DeMartino, Brian Kronenberger, TIm Myjak, Paul Pizzo, Jay Polke, and Maureen Westbrook for their invaluable guidance and support throughout this process. This transformation wouldn’t have been possible without your dedication and expertise—thank you!

We appreciate your patience and continued support during this transition. We’ll continue to serve you with the same commitment and energy from our temporary location—and we look forward to welcoming you into a beautifully renovated space in 2026!

📣 Now Accepting Nominations - William J. Pomfret Veteran Community Service Award 📣

The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce’s Support the Troops Committee is now accepting nominations for its annual William J. Pomfret Veteran Community Service Award to be presented at the 2025 Support the Troops and Honor the Veterans Breakfast Meeting on Monday, November 3, 2025 at the Sheraton Hartford South Hotel in Rocky Hill. This year’s keynote speaker will be Major General Francis J. Evon, Jr., Adjutant General, Connecticut National Guard.

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for the award:
• Reside or work in one of the following Middlesex County towns: Chester, Cromwell, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Middlefield, Middletown, Portland, Rocky Hill, or Westbrook.
• Have served in a branch of the United States Armed Forces and continue to advocate for Veterans Affairs.
• Be actively involved in local and/or state community organizations or initiatives.

Nominations must be received at the Chamber Office by FRIDAY, AUGUST 22, 2025 AT 4:30 PM.

After decades of serving the business community, the space was due for serious updates—from accessibility and energy efficiency to preserving its architectural charm. This coming Tuesday, we will be hosting our biannual Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Workshop on Tuesday, July 8 from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the Chamber Office. The definition of sexual harassment, liability (your own and your organization's), and the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace will be discussed. Attorneys from the law firm Jackson Lewis, P.C. will show you how to limit your company's exposure to charges of sexual harassment. Please arrive on time. Two hours mandatory attendance is required to receive certificate.
