This sleepy slice of rural mountain heaven boasts a population of fewer than 1,500 people. You’ll find Lake Lure nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, about an hour from Asheville and a whopping 100 feet from Chimney Rock. Established in 1927 by Dr. Lucius B. Morse, Lake Lure’s biggest claims to fame (other than the stunning terrain) are that Dirty Dancing and Last of the Mohicans were filmed in the area. There’s even an annual Dirty Dancing festival for any Swayze fans out there. Ready to plan a visit? Check out our selection of tiny homes available by visiting our website. 😃💪🏽🤩
