WOW! That’s really the only way we can sum up our first World of Wonders! 🌎✨

We had such a great time kicking off our 2027 New Horizons trips with our Collette representative, Jennifer Gyorffry, sharing all the exciting places we’ll be traveling to next year.

A special thank you to our guest speaker and TV personality VeryVera , who shared her story and encouraged us to take that leap of faith, get out there, travel, and embrace everything this ever-changing world has to offer.

We also want to thank The Chef and The Wife for putting together custom hors d’oeuvres inspired by the destinations we’ll be visiting. And thank you to Barrel 118 for being such a wonderful host and providing the perfect setting for the evening.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who came out and made our very first World of Wonder such a special night. We’re so excited for all the adventures ahead! ✈️🌎

New Horizons and First Friend finished our bourbon trail tour today with three distilleries in downtown Louisville.

Evan Williams is a brand of Kentucky straight bourbon bottled by the Heaven Hill company. The product is aged for a minimum of four years (which is more than the two year minimum to be called 'straight' bourbon, but is the minimum requirement for a straight whiskey that does not have an age statement on the label). It has been ranked as one of the world's best selling whiskey brands.

Michter's celebrates an extraordinarily rich heritage that traces back to 1753. The Michter's team spares no expense as they strive to produce the greatest American whiskey. Tremendous attention is given to every step in the production process, including details like yeast selection; fermentation temperatures; distillation; wood selection and drying of staves; toasting and/or charring barrels; barreling proof; temperature and air-flow conditions in the barrel rickhouse; identifying the peak maturation for bottling; and filtration protocol.

Angel's Envy is known for its unique "secondary finishing" process, where whiskey is finished in port wine barrels for added complexity. It offers tours, tastings, and cocktail classes, showcasing the entire production process from fermentation to bottling, including its signature port-finished bourbon.

What a great day and great ending to this fun packed tour. From the Corvette Museum to all the bourbon tastings at the ten distilleries we visited, we have had a blast with old friends and our new friends from FNB Griffin.

Tomorrow we head home with great memories and boxes bourbon 🥃

Today New Horizons and First Friends started with a visit to Maker’s Mark Distillery, started by Bill and Margie Samuel in their kitchen. Bill was the engineer-turned-craftsman who elevated bourbon with his flavor vision while Margie was the creative mind behind packaging. She also came up with the shape of the bottle, look of the label, and their signature red wax. Margie is also credited with inventing bourbon tourism.

Heaven Hill Distillery, our second stop, has been family owned and operated since founded in 1935. Nestled in the heart of Historic Bardstown, the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience provides an immersive American Whiskey experience.

Our final stop today located in the heart of Kentucky’s bourbon country, Bardstown Bourbon Company represents a new era of whiskey innovation. Their state-of-the-art facility honors time-tested traditions while embracing cutting-edge techniques that push the boundaries of what bourbon can be. We tasted this bourbon straight from the barrel using the thieving method.

Today we toured three bourbon distilleries. Between stops we witnessed some of the most beautiful horse farms.

Woodford Reserve Distillery, a National Historic Landmark in Woodford County, Kentucky, is one of the oldest distilling sites in the state, with history dating back to 1812. It's known for its historic architecture, including cypress fermentation tanks and copper pot stills, and for blending traditional bourbon-making with modern innovation, offering tours, tastings, and a cocktail bar. The distillery is situated in the heart of bourbon country, surrounded by bluegrass and horse farms, and is a key stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

Bluegrass Distillers is home to Kentucky’s first Blue Corn Bourbon at Elkwood Farm. This distinctive bourbon delivers a nutty sweetness and depth of flavor unlike anything else on the market. We did a bourbon tasting paired with chocolate.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is the oldest continuously operating distillery in America, a National Historic Landmark known for its wide range of award-winning bourbons like Buffalo Trace, Pappy Van Winkle, and E.H. Taylor, Jr. We took a tour and had a tasting of 4 products produced here. The tour showcased historic buildings, copper stills, and the grounds where bourbon has been made for over 200 years.

Another fun day with our New Horizons travelers and First Friends from FNB Griffin.

Today New Horizons and FNB Griffin First Friends visited the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln. The cabin he was born and lived in is housed in a marble and granite memorial. This afternoon we took a tour of Frazier Kentucky History Museum where we learned what goes into making bourbon and the history behind the bourbon industry. Within the museum they have a speakeasy where we did our first tasting on this Trailin’ n Tastin’ tour.

On our way to Kentucky for our Trailin’ n Tastin’ Bourbon tour we stopped off at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. The story of the National Corvette Museum begins with a bold idea and a shared passion for America’s Sports Car. In the mid-1980s, Corvette enthusiasts and members of the National Corvette Restorers Society recognized the need to preserve Corvette history for future generations. What started as a vision for a centralized archive quickly gained momentum, fueled by dedicated volunteers, collectors, and supporters who believed Corvette’s story deserved a permanent home.
