Another beautiful and hot day in beautiful Croatia. We started our day on the island of Bol where some went to the shore of the Golden Cape. Known to be one of the most popular beaches in Croatia. After lunch on the ship, it was another quick dip in the Adriatic Sea to cool off before touring Hvar and Stari Grad this afternoon.

Another gorgeous sunset this evening as we were returning to the ship.

After an overnight in Trogir, we left port and found a swim spot. We had a leisurely morning on the boat as we travels to Split.

In Split, one of the oldest cities in this historic region, we explored Diocletian’s Palace, another UNESCO sight. We visited the substructure where many of the scenes from Game of Thrones was filmed.

Our adventures in Croatia continued today in Šibenik where we did a walking tour through the ancient alleyways and streets. Some may recognize the Cathedral of St James (UNESCO) from Game of Thrones. They were having a festival for the kids and they were asked to draw pictures of themselves. Cute and colorful!

This afternoon we boarded our ship, the MS Desire in Trogir. We took a quick walking tour with a guide and admired the striking stone houses and towering cathedral. We will spend the night in port and leave out at 11 am tomorrow.

We ended the evening with a delicious Captains Dinner. He is 25 years old and has been part of the family of sailors since the age of ten.

On our second day in Croatia we ventured to the breathtaking Krka National Park, where waterfalls tumble through dramatic gorges. We walked the winding boardwalk along the trails that surround the falls. This was a spectacular walk but very hot, temperatures in the 90’s!

Today we stepped into history and culture of everyday life in Zagreb with a walking tour of the city. Then it was off to Vodice where we were treated to a traditional Dalmatian dinner and tour of a family owned farm-to-table restaurant. They grow grapes and figs as well as raise pigs. All ingredients are used in the restaurant.

On our final day in the UK we visited one of the most interesting manors. Chavenage dates back to the Elizabethan period and the most recent reconstruction was completed in 1576. We had the honor to be led through the home by two of the most recent descendants who grew up in the home. As we walked through room after room we were entertained by their stories of people who came before them and how they have preserved so much of the original contents, most notable the tapestries. You may recognize some of the rooms as Poldark was filmed here as well as Tess of the d’Urbervilles. Most recently the Disney + series Rivals along with a host of other films & TV used the manor as the setting.

A stop in Burford gave us the opportunity to see St John the Baptist Church built in the 11th - 15th centuries.

As we drove across the Cotswolds today we saw beautiful rolling hills and quaint little villages, where time seems to have stood still. What a beautiful country.

Today we sadly left the amazing Bovey Castle to travel into the
Cotswold region. We made a quick stop in Castle Combe, a quaint and picturesque village. We then traveled a short distance to Lacock, a quintessential English village which looks much like it did 200 years ago. A firm film favorite, some might recognize it from appearances including Downton Abbey, the BBC’s Pride and Prejudice and Cranford. The films Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Wolf Hall were also filmed here.

Today’s journey took us into the heart of Dartmoor National Park. We learned about the mystery and legends surrounding this beautiful and wild area. We took a hike onto the moor to witness some of the Bronze Age ruins, climbed atop a medieval clapper bridge and enjoyed the majestic beauty of the wild ponies.
