Out and about on a great Saturday afternoon tour. Drove past three family reunions. Each being held at their local district schoolhouse. Lots of hay being made the old fashion way, and witnessed first steps for a Jersey bull calf who just born.

I never tire of sharing these great moments and experiences with guests from around the world. Blessed to be in a tour operator/guide in Ohio Amish Country. Hopefully we’ll see you on the next tour.

Stopped in to talk to my Amish friend Leroy who farms/raises exotic animals to sell. From the Jacob’s Sheep and the Muntjac (Barking Deer), he took me inside the barn below to show me the mud nests the Cliff Swallows are building. They’re up to 56 nests. Last year there were 90. They’re already laying eggs. Sorry I don’t have photos since I had left my phone/camera in the car.

Then it was upstairs in the barn to look at the bats that are making their home in the hanging burlap sacks in the rafters. The bright lighting annoyed them so they moved around quite a bit.

It’s always a long stop talking with Leroy but we both enjoy our talks and we learn so much from each other.

Came across this two month old foul with SD Rocketeer pedigree. Rocketeer is a well known Standardbred stallion known for his front foot action.
