Now In Residence: Baxter State Park's 2026 Visiting Artist, Kaitlyn Metcalf!

Kaitlyn will be at Kidney Pond from Monday, 9/07 - Sunday, 9/20. During her stay, she will host a dark sky drawing workshop on Saturday, 9/12, from 7 - 9 p.m. (visitors should bring their own redlight headlamp) and an open house of her completed artworks at the Kidney Pond Library on Saturday, 9/19 - Sunday, 9/20. Visitors who want to meet the artist while viewing her work can stop by the Kidney Pond Library on Saturday, 9/19 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. during her open studio session.

During her time here, Kaitlyn will create sketches that she will later render into larger paintings. Her works will focus on the night sky, its importance, and the solace and imagination it ignites.
