🍂 Fall Festival Fun in Downtown Lewisburg! What a wonderful day celebrating the Autumn season at the Lewisburg Fall Festival and Woolly Worm Winter Weather Prognostication, and unpavedPA Kickoff festivities!

🍁 From local artisans and makers to delicious food, live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and downtown shopping, there was no shortage of fall fun, community spirit, and excitement throughout Downtown Lewisburg!

🐛 One of the day's favorite traditions was the Woolly Worm Winter Weather Prognostication, where our fuzzy little forecasters took center stage to predict the winter weather ahead!

🚴‍♂️ The unPAved kickoff festivities added even more excitement as cyclists and visitors gathered in Downtown Lewisburg to celebrate another incredible weekend of gravel riding in the Susquehanna River Valley!

💚 A big thank you to the event organizers, local businesses, vendors, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this such a wonderful community celebration!

Ever had a weekend away that completely rearranged your mental map of a place?

That's what four days of gravel riding through the Susquehanna River Valley did to me a few weeks ago.

Armed with the Gravel Adventure Field Guide, I rented a bike from local bike shop, Link Cyclery, met up with the team from unpavedPA of the Susquehanna River Valley (the area’s signature gravel event) and what I found blew me away.

With a road network dating back to the 1790s, there are endless miles of country roads both gravel and pavement.

Don’t want to climb that hill? Cool - there’s a shortcut!

I also learned that Central PA has a true four-season climate that makes this a year-round riding destination. While some of the routes in the mountains might not be accessible in the winter, the Gravel Adventure Field Guide covers 5 unique regions within the Susquehanna River Valley, truly making it a “choose your own adventure!”

The Susquehanna River Valley is also home to a large Mennonite and Amish population, and you feel that slower pace in every small town and fuel stop along the way.

It’s closer than you'd think, too - just 3 hours from Philly, Pittsburgh, or DC, with easy access to major airports.
