Last night’s storm dealt a devastating blow to one of our own.
Many of you know and love Melody Bowers and Tavern On The Rail Event Barn. For years, Melody has poured her heart into creating a beautiful place where families celebrate weddings, anniversaries, reunions, and so many special moments. She’s also been one of those people who’s always willing to lend a hand, support local causes, and help others whenever she could.
The storm caused extensive damage to the property. A large portion of the barn roof was torn away, allowing water to pour into the event space. Furniture, antique décor, oriental rugs, silk floral arrangements, fabric seating, and many of the unique treasures that gave the barn its charm were soaked or damaged. The gazebo was destroyed, trees are down throughout the property, and several of the beautiful outdoor areas used for ceremonies and photos have been hit hard.
To make matters even more difficult, Melody has weddings and events scheduled in the coming weeks and is doing everything she can to get the venue back up and running.
We’re working on setting up a GoFundMe to help with the many repairs not covered by insurance, and I’ll share the link as soon as it’s ready.
This is one of those moments when a community comes together for someone who has spent years giving to everyone else. If you’ve ever attended an event at Tavern On The Rail or know Melody personally,  you know why I’m posting this for her.
