August at Estancia Cerro Guido ❄️

August marked the end of Estancia Cerro Guido’s special winter program, offering a unique glimpse into Patagonia under snow.

One of the month’s highlights was an unforgettable sheep herding, with more than 2,500 sheep brought to the shed for eye and groin shearing. Set against snow-covered fields with the Paine Towers in the distance, this traditional ranching task captured the essence of winter life at Cerro Guido.

The scene was beautifully documented by renowned photographer and filmmaker Timothy Dhalleine.

On 6 February 2027, the Moon will pass across the Sun above northern Patagonia, creating an extraordinary ring of fire.

For returning travelers Hilary and Jeff, Peru was next to tick off their bucket list. Here's what they had to say about their experience:

This was our third trip to South America with Knowmad Adventures, and we couldn't be more pleased! Colin worked with us to plan the perfect custom itinerary combining adventure with luxury accommodations, and the trip was just spectacular. By day, we hiked Machu Picchu as well as several explorations within the Sacred Valley, and in the evenings we were pampered at the Explora and the Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco. The food, scenery, guides, and adventures were unforgettable, and it was invaluable knowing that Knowmad and their in-country guides were taking care of us and all of the details every step of the way. After three amazing adventures with Knowmad, we wouldn't travel to South America without them.

We love when our travelers return to Knowmad to plan new adventures. This is Suzette and Dennis' fourth trip with us, and it didn't disappoint!

Dennis and I had a great time in Peru. We really enjoyed the itinerary that you help crafted for us. It was interesting, educational and a lot of fun. From the start of the trip in Lima where we had a chance to not only see the city, but to enjoy the cuisine, to the amazing dining experience we had at Maido, then to the see the ancient Inca sites in the Sacred Valley and meeting the Peruvian people, to the highlight of the trip hiking the Inca Trail to see Machu Picchu, and finally to exploring the amazon. It was a whirlwind tour of Peru that we will not forget. Thank you for putting together a memorable experience for us.
