Did you know we also run private music tours? We had the pleasure to guide Peter and Paul of LA-based band around the city’s punk, rock and Minneapolis Sound sites. We visited the childhood homes of the Stinson brothers and Paul Westerberg of The Replacements, the Let It Be house (where the album cover was shot), the Bob Stinson memorial bench, the former bar where bands like Hüsker Dü, Su***de Commandos and the Suburbs took off, as well as sites associated with Bob Dylan and Prince.

We couldn’t let the season come and go without getting together to chat about our favourite Christmas songs. What do the best songs have in common? We think we have the answer.
We have no doubt included one of your favourites in this top 20 list, but if not, tell us which song you love.
There are so many great songs to choose from it was pretty difficult figuring out which to include in this selection. So let us in the comments if we left out a big festive fave.
Check out our full video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj3ceQ9HD5g

I often thought of him as the cool Cat in the Hat, but Garry George “Jellybean” Johnson was so much more. A consummate musician, a critical member of Morris Day and The Time (on drums) and The Family/fdeluxe (on guitar), producer of the hit song Black Cat, by Janet Jackson – that’s just the tip of the iceberg. He was also working hard to build and preserve the legacy of Minneapolis’ homegrown music genre, raising funds for Minneapolis Sound Museum, capturing a critical part of America’s music history.

It was always a joy for purple fam to see Jellybean around town, and to grab a laugh with him (he smiled a lot - a big, hearty smile that filled whatever room he was in) and to see him perform across the Twin Cities. We are grateful for his immense talent, and send our deepest condolences to his family. Much love Marty and Jazzmin 💜

It was such a pleasure to show around Prince’s beloved hometown of Minneapolis for his story for ! Here is a quote from Zac’s piece—enjoy! And thank you and for connecting us.

“For more depth and context, download the excellent SoundAround Tours mobile app, which offers several different self-guided audio tours of Prince sites in Minneapolis.... In addition to supplying encyclopedic biographical detail, Zschomler acquaints listeners with useful local history, advocates for the preservation of neglected landmarks (“Why isn’t this the Prince Rogers Nelson School for the Arts?” she said to us of the shuttered school building), and gives proper due to the “Minneapolis Sound.”
