Perhaps Kansas' most famous geologic park, Rock City is a small park near Minneapolis that packs quite a punch! Over 200 sandstone concretions, some up to 20 feet in diameter, cover the area. These concretions were formed from ancient sea deposits millions of years ago. Turbulent groundwater unevenly distributed the cement causing certain portions of the sand to cement together. As erosion broke down the landscape, the cemented concretions stood strong and now are here for all to appreciate.

Happy Spring from Rock City!
We have restocked our t-shirts, hats, mugs, rocks, stickers and more for the season. The curio shop is open weekends until school is out then most days until school starts back up.
If you come to visit please let us know where you are from and how you heard about the park then make a short trip into Minneapolis to check out the coffee shop, burger joint, Mexican food, Beautifully remodeled Odd Fellows building that is now an upscale serve yourself brew pub, A Quilt shop and more. RV camping available in our 150+ year old oak grove park, the fairgrounds or Ottawa County state lake. We hope to see you soon!
Its been decades since we had a price increase but have gone to $4 for adults, kids are still .50 cents
