“Do we really need another tube bait?” Feider asks, rhetorically.  “Nah. Not really. Plenty of cookie cutter 4- and 5-inch tubes out there already. But a micro tube? Made from buoyant, bulletproof ElaZtech? That’s a different animal.”

Heat has both species of bass active on some waters. Real good trip days recently with Shirley and Casey. Afternoon half day kicked out 40 fish and a full day trip next day led to 75 more. If you’ve read this week’s report, nearly everything in my boat is getting caught with some type of a 4 to 6 inch worm or finesse worm (jig worm rigging).

12 to 20 foot. Edges and ledges. Others on humps and deep rock.

I’d be getting out early after sunrise. If you have a cooldown type of day expect the afternoon to be great + all day action.

WOW !! 😮

Valued customers,

As many of you may know, the cost of doing business has risen significantly, primarily due to a 15% Tarriff increase. We as a company have also experience increased material cost, especially raw tungsten.

Effective 08.15.25 we will be forced to raise pricing across the entire product line... Increases of 20 to 25% can be expected.

We are also limiting the product selection somewhat to focus production on the most popular items, reducing complexity and costs.

Some Sizes and colors will no longer be offered. Currently these products are listed on the dealer sheet and under the Discontinued item tab on the Main Menu of the website Homepage.

Current pricing will be honored until the end of the day on 08.15. Please use this opportunity to load up before the prices change.

We will continue to provide the highest quality lures and top-notch customer service.

We appreciate your support!

Thanks...

Last week my wife and I announced an incoming baby bass. Due in November.

As of this morning 5 more open fishing dates are left for the remainder of 2025 and before I start my next career at Trophy Husband Guide Service in November.

Those dates are:
Monday September 15
Thursday September 18
Thursday October 2
Friday October 3
Monday October 6

Hawg hunts only. These will each be 9 to 10 hour days. Strenuous casting. Non action trips.

If you've expressed wanting to fish with me these last 10 years but we could never make it happen, might this be your last chance.

Depending on how things are back home, I may open a few more last minute (before Sept 13 and after Oct 6) but at this point the calendar is what it is..... I can only fish weekdays this fall, I need to be home on weekends, I have appointments I am scheduling everything around on, and long story short I want my time back.

Posting this here first before it goes into next week's newsletter and 1500+ more people see it.

The dog days are here. Fish early and late this month. How you caught fish in July must be replicated again in August until those strategies no longer work.

These are the dog days. Fish early and late this month but be ready to play the weather as it will greatly influence feeding and activity. How you caught fish in July must be replicated again in August until those strategies no longer work.

Whether fishing new lakes, covering w**d lines, or simply blind casting, the swim jig has been as reliable as it comes.

Typically, I'd work my Kizewski Jigs with the oversize paddletail or swimming grub. Fish didn't want those last week. Instead, I found two winners -

First jig is Kizewgill. This one normally gets paired with a 4.5 bluegill pattern paddletail. Instead, I turned to a Strike King Rage Bug. Blue craw is perfect match for bluegill. This was my tool for hitting deep w**dlines. Rather than straight cast and retrieve, I played more hop-scotch; make a cast, let descend down towards bottom, then before reaching bottom begin retrieve upwards thru water column, and every other turn of reel pump rod upwards from .45 to .90 angle and let flutter back down a foot or two. Triggered many fish and bites in those 10-15 foot zones and deep edges.

Second photo is the ole reliable black and blue. Works in all lake types from brown water, to green water, and clear water. If I had to cover flats and shallows quickly, I went with this one and had it rigged all week with a 4.25 Z-Man Fishing Products Billy Goat. Largemouths pounded with frequency. This is a nice downsized trailer that kicks and undulates at any speed.

It didn't take long for me to identify these two trailer candidates. If you're on a good spot that has fish but they're not biting as well as you'd think, swap trailers every few minutes till you find the winner. You'll get the feedback desired.

Very good largemouth fishing recently. Each of these fish were hit last week. Did most damage early mornings before heat and water temps became too much. Swim jig, structure jig, and frogs got them all.

Had 78-82 on my lmb lakes. Hottest it got was up to 88. By weekend was down to 76-78.

I’ll have all the details in the upcoming report -

Northwoods Bass Fishing Adventures, LLC

The waters surrounding the Minocqua, WI lakeland region teem with largemouth and smallmouth bass. The mission of this specialty guide service is to showcase Wisconsin's Northwoods as a premier world-class bass fishing destination. With our trophy regulated and well-managed inland lakes now populated with more big fish than ever before, we invite you to join us on our big fish adventure of catching, conserving, and chronicling the trophy smallmouth bass of Northern Wisconsin.

Our guided fishing trips and northwoods tours are committed to providing the most successful, informative and educational fishing experience possible. Bass anglers who fish with me (newbies, veterans, or pros, whichever you choose to be) will learn how to locate, approach, and catch smallmouth bass and largemouth bass on our region’s waters. Catching and releasing big smallmouths is each day’s mission, but cannot be made possible without the desire to learn and become a better bass angler. I will teach you my game, and how to fish at a level to succeed.

When hosting guests for smallmouth fishing, I don’t have a preference with whom I am fishing with. I enjoy fishing with men, women, and children who have a passion for fishing, a willingness to learn, and want to experience a day in my life as a northwoods bass angler.

I preach open-mindedness and positive attitude to all guests who fish with me. Despite my high standards, I also keep expectations realistic, as not every day will be as good as a weekend fishing TV show. For instance, some days of fishing are better than others. Each lake also contains more or less fish than the other, or smaller or bigger fish than the other.
