🚴‍♂️🚓 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM YOUR FRIENDLY LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT 🚓🚴‍♀️
(AKA: “Things We Apparently Still Have to Say in 2025”)

🚴‍♂️BICYLCISTS: YES, you can ride on most public roads.✅
NO, you cannot ride on the interstate.
(We know it’s tempting… smooth pavement… no red lights… but trust us, it’s a big nope.)🚫

Just a quick reminder:
👉 Ride on the right side of the road, with traffic; not against it.
👉 Use your hand signals. Yes, those hand signals, not the “other” ones you use when someone cuts you off.
👉 Drivers: give cyclists three feet of space when passing.
That’s three feet. Not three inches.

🚗And MOTORISTS: BE KIND. Remember, cyclists have the same right to be on the road as you… even if they’re wearing stretchy neon outfits brighter than our patrol car lights.

We’ve been awarded a Louisiana Highway Safety grant to help educate and enforce bicycle and pedestrian safety. Help us keep the roads safe for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians... because we’re all just trying to get where we’re going without starring in each other’s insurance claims.

And please, let’s all avoid meeting because of paperwork. 😉
