I thought it would be beneficial if I gave some information on exactly how a travel agent works and what we do. There are plenty of myths about charging fees and costing more because we get commission and so on. So I hope this information clears the air. And please do not hesitate at any time to ask me any questions!

Travel Agents Do Not Cost More-

Travel agents basically earn their living by the commissions we earn from our sales of hotel stays, cruises, sightseeing and rental cars. The airlines haven’t paid commissions to travel agents since the mid 1990’s. Online Travel companies (ex; Expedia and Travelocity) do charge service fees. They build them into the cost that you pay. So if you thought you would get a better price because your not paying a commission to a travel agent that would be false. That commission just goes right to the company once you book. And some of us can attest to the fact that if there is a problem they are not always the easiest to deal with. You can avoid that by booking with an agent. There are some travel agents that do charge a minimal service fee for their time which is usually offset by their time and money savings. I will only charge a fee if you wanted me to book air only because as I stated above they do not pay travel agents commission for booking.

Travel Agents Match Online Prices -

Some people just enjoy planning their own vacations. These are probably the same folks who like putting together IKEA furniture. No matter, make yourself happy find your best price and let me know the details. I should either be able to match it or tell you why you’re setting yourself up for a scam. You can even make your own reservations directly with a cruise line or tour company then call and transfer your booking to my agency. It’s a win-win. You get and do exactly what you want while having me to do all the follow up, follow thru etc while making suggestions to enhance your enjoyment!

Travel Agents are “All Inclusive”-

Hotels, vacation package companies and cruise lines all include travel agent commissions in their published prices. If you do all the work yourself online, they “pocket” the difference. Using the services of a travel agent means you get the customer service you deserve. You won’t be spending hours on the internet, hanging on phone hold for eternity or wasting any precious time wondering and worrying.

Hello! I hope you all are having a great start to the summer! Just wanted to update you on the trip I am on right now. Saturday I checked into the Cabana Bay Hotel at Universal Studios Resort. I stayed for 2 nights and then checked into the Hard Rock hotel. These hotels are very different but both great hotels for many reasons. Cabana Bay is more value priced while Hard rock is Deluxe. Well back to reality and adulting for me😭

My Last day in Punta Cana was spent on the beautiful ocean taking a catamaran over to Saona Island. Just when I thought it couldn’t get more beautiful!! I felt like I was in a postcard!!
