I’m headed to Mackinac Island this weekend, which means I’m slowly packing.

I’m definitely one of those people who starts packing days or a week before a trip by piling things next to, or sometimes directly into , my suitcase. Then, as the departure date gets closer, I organize everything and actually pack the suitcase.

As I walked past my suitcase tonight, I started wondering…

How do YOU pack?

Are you someone who packs everything at once and is done with it? Do you start early and add things as you think of them? Are you a last-minute packer? Or are you a packing cube enthusiast like me?

I’m a huge fan of packing cubes, or, in the case of my Solgaard, my “closet suitcase.” It makes unpacking so much easier when I arrive.

The work behind the vacation matters.

I’m currently participating in a two-week Alaska Boot Camp with Princess Cruises, and I’m loving the opportunity to go deeper into a destination I know many of my guests dream about visiting.

We’re covering everything from the legacy of Princess in Alaska to the different ways you can experience the state with Princess, including:

• What makes each Alaska port special
• When Princess visits and why the timing matters
• Cruise Tours and what’s included
• Alaska lodges and land experiences
• How to combine a cruise with time on land
• And so much more
