What do you think?

The first progress meeting for the Hwy 31 widening project was held yesterday here at City Hall. The 3.64 mile project from School Road to just past Rockwell Elementary School was initially planned back in 2010 but delayed due to funding. The BP oil spill settlement as well as ALDOT and Baldwin County funding has recently allowed for the project to move forward. These weekly progress meetings will provide the city with important information related to construction sequences and possible travel impacts. As this information is delivered to city staff, we will update our website and page to provide residents and businesses with advance notice in an effort to minimize any impacts. Utility companies have been relocating their services and will complete this phase soon as well as construction warning signage has begun to be installed along the project span. ALDOT, the contractor and City of Spanish Fort looks forward to this transportation project that will reduce traffic congestion in the future. Please be mindful that this project will be occurring over a period of 360 workdays. Therefore, challenges may arise but ALDOT and the contractor plans to make every effort to notify us and minimize the impacts. Please share this information in order to help the city keep everyone up to date. Contact ALDOT or the City Building Official with any questions related to the project. Thank you in advance for patience and understanding!

In this episode we had a chance to sit down with Brian Kane. Brian adds to the count of lawyers that have appeared on the podcast. Brian is no longer lawyering though.
