A forest fire just 3-5 miles Northeast burns. The size burning is approximately 20 acreas and is being held back by firefighters.

Western Washington Type 3 Incident Management Team arrived in Taholah, Washington today, responding to the Margarita Fire on the Quinault Indian Nation. The team will assume command of the fire tomorrow. We appreciate the warm welcome from the community and look forward to supporting you all.

Be responsible when celebrating on the beach.

Parks sees a dramatic increase in visitation during
Independence Day celebrations, particularly on its beaches. The increase in traffic also increases the amount of trash left behind. Last year, volunteers collected more than 35,000 pounds of garbage from ocean beaches during Parks' annual July 5 beach cleanup. That's equivalent to the combined weight of four adult orca whales.
Help reduce the amount of trash left behind by:
👍Bringing trash bags with you
🚯Pack out everything you pack in
🚮Finding the nearest dumpster or garbage can
Any litter left behind on the beach threatens the safety and future of beach wildlife and can be unsafe for people and pets.
High tides the night of July 4 to the morning of July 5 can cause litter to wash out into the ocean, harming marine animals as well. Given the threat that trash poses to everyone on the beach, it is crucial for everyone to do their part and pick up all their trash before leaving the beach.
If you would like to do more, show up for our beach cleanup on July 4 or 5.

Our 1st guest of New Year wrote: Loved this Beautiful Home 🏡. It was my dream home . Perfect in every way . Perfect for the quiet person that loves to sit and watch the ocean and enjoy a peaceful fire place . I loved the whirlpool bath bath . I had brought my own bubble bath soap and was perfect for the new year occasion . I had even bought flowers 💐 and there was a vase to hold them . The home was filled with many awesome touches . Such as dishes to use and a full kitchen too cook and bake in. It was Soo perfect in unbelievable ways . Location is super safe quiet and cozy . Even for the solo tracker who seeks some relaxation. I loved every moment . There was even a Christmas tree to greet me . I felt so at home 🏡. Thank you for the most Wonderful place ever . It was a true blessing. I look forward to visiting again soon.

What's your favorite vacation spot?

A: What an impossibly hard question to answer! I enjoy anywhere that has water and sunshine. Since I cannot give you my top spot I'll try for my top three — Hawaii, Southern California (San Diego and Laguna Niguel) and Moclips, Wash., in particular the Ocean Crest Resort.
Q: Can you offer an insider tip or recommendation for your favorite vacation place?
A: Washington along the sandy beaches — this sublime hideaway (Moclips) is absolutely delightful! About three hours from Seattle it rests right against the Pacific Ocean and in the summer you'll find amazing weather, sights and nature. It is the place where I go to make big decisions, life-changing contemplation or simply to get away from the world of materialistic agenda. True nature seems sacred here and the appreciation of the sights and sound of the crashing waves make a one-week stay simply not long enough. My favorite place to stay is the Ocean Crest Resort. The chef and staff at this small, quaint hotel give it a family feel. In fact, it is still in family ownership and operated by many of its family members to ensure that the quality and true Pacific Northwest feel stays true to the experience.
