Moving your scuba tank safely starts with the right grip!

Always carry your tank with the valve facing outward, away from your body. You can securely hold it by the valve handle, grip the side of the tank, or use both hands for added control. Keeping the valve facing out helps prevent it from hitting your legs and gives you better control while walking.

Scuba tanks are heavy and pressurized, so take your time, use a firm grip, and never lift one by the regulator. Proper handling protects you, your equipment, and everyone around you.

Transport your scuba tanks safely and with confidence!

When carrying a tank, keep the valve facing away from your body and use the handle or a secure two-handed grip on the side of the tank.

For vehicle transportation, always use a tank rack to prevent tanks from rolling or shifting. Tank protectors help prevent scratches and keep your equipment looking newer, while tank carriers make getting to your dive site—especially across the beach, much easier.

Your next dive starts long before you hit the water!

Make sure your scuba tank is ready for the adventure!

Visual Inspection
Completed every year.
Approximate cost: $35.
Check for the Aquatic Dreams inspection sticker to make sure your tank is current.

Hydrostatic Test (Hydro)
Completed every 5 years.
Approximate cost: $65.
Check the hydro date stamped on the shoulder (dome) of your tank to see when it’s due.
