Proud to see another meaningful addition to the Quad Cities' public art landscape.

Community members gathered at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island for the dedication of “Come Ride With Us”, a beautiful metal bicycle sculpture honoring longtime cycling advocates Dean and Deb Mathias.

For decades, Dean and Deb have championed cycling, regional trail development, and initiatives that enhance quality of life throughout the Quad Cities. Their passion and leadership have helped shape our region into a more connected, active, and vibrant destination.

Congratulations to the QCBC - Quad Cities Bicycle Club, Quad City ArtsArts, and the City of Rock Island Government for bringing this tribute to life and celebrating the lasting impact of two remarkable community leaders.

Thank you, Deb and Dean, for all you have done, and continue to do, for the Quad Cities.

As Visit Quad Cities continues planning for the future of the region, our Board of Directors gathered this week for a special Strategy and Engagement Session focused on long-term tourism growth, destination development, and regional collaboration. Discussions included future opportunities and challenges facing the tourism industry, along with ways the Quad Cities can continue building a strong regional identity.

The afternoon featured insights from tourism industry leader Al Hutchinson and his wife, Unae Hutchinson, of AVH Enterprise, leading collaborative discussions. Al Hutchinson, founder of AVH Enterprise, brought more than 30 years of experience in the destination marketing industry to the session. From 2016 to 2025, he served as President & CEO of Visit Baltimore, helping drive significant economic impact and tourism growth for the city.
