I LOVE newborn sessions. There's a reason they are scheduled within the first 10 days after birth- because babies change so fast! It is such an privilege to spend time with these new little humans, and their new parents.

Monterey family photography has been so fun! Who wouldn't love to take their shoes off and play on the beach for a bit? I adore capturing kids being themselves, and kids really are themselves at the beach!

This is parenting. It's not just doing all the things that get all the things done. It's not just the driving, the cooking, and the working. It's the quiet cheerleading. It's the special moments of tender connection. Do you think this little guy will remember what his mamma said in this moment that made him feel special? How do you think we remember these kinds of things in adulthood?

I used to think bird photography was, well, for the birds. But after a quiet morning attempting to be still, I see it's kind of magical. I should seek to be a bit more like the birders. Full disclosure, I wasn't actually trying to photograph birds, but this little guy photobombed my butterfly shot.
