Who is Lizzy B?
In the Spring of 2008, the idea of taking our 1st child to Disney came true. Having never visited as a family and knowing how my husband felt about crowds, I was hesitant to even cater to the idea. Oh my....we fell in love! A place where we could escape reality for a week to just focus on us - no farm, dogs, jobs (well maybe a little), school, bills, etc. A place where people come together from all over the world to create unforgettable memories and reconnect as a family. A place that we consider “Home”. 15 trips later and half a college education .....
After returning from our 1st Disney trip, close friends and family reached out who were planning their trips to see the “Famous Mouse”! I wanted them to have the same experience and love it as much as we did. I wanted to HELP them navigate through the craziness of dining, fastpasses, buses, etc. I worried about them from the time they left home, until they returned. I could not wait for them to share their pictures with me. WHY? I have no idea. I wasn’t getting PAID, but I didn’t care.
Numerous hours and sleepless nights, I was given the ultimatum, “Figure out how to start your own agency or stop planning their trips for free!” Uggghhh! I did not have the first clue, but with a lot of digging and networking my wish came true. In October of 2014, Adventures by Lizzy B became a reality. Who is Lizzy B? My childhood nickname was Libby and still is, but my husband started calling me Lizzy B and it just worked. When I first started the agency, I was working for a subcontractor as a corporate travel agent and planning trips for clients on my off days, nights, and weekends. At the end of my 5 year journey, I was managing over one million dollars in travel. What an experience I was so fortunate to be a part of! In May of 2019, I officially opened to all of my past clients and new clients as a FULL time agency.
My love for travel started as a small child. We didn’t fly, we drove (sometimes a car full) ....all over the country. Some days, the dust never settled under my feet before I was off again. In the 9th grade, I was given a very precious gift to visit my aunt and uncle in England (yes, I got on a plane and flew all by myself to Europe). I wasn’t scared... I was ready for the adventure! In Dec. of 2001 while the rest of the world was timid about flying due to the current situation of 911, my husband and I boarded a plane to say “I DO!”. Jamaica is now our home, away from “home”. It is now our “marriage therapy”. We have met so many wonderful people along the way that now we consider “family”.
