At 96 feet long and three decks tall, the Harriott II can accommodate as many as 350 passengers at a time. Coast Guard-approved riverboat was built in 1981 and was extensively refurbished in 2009 upon arrival at is new home on Montgomery’s Riverwalk. Named after the historically significant Harriott, which was the first paddlewheel boat to steam is way from Mobile to Montgomery to pick up a shipment of cotton in 1821, the Harriott II has embarked on an exciting new tradition of providing entertaining and education cruises on the Alabama River.

We regret to share that, due to unexpected mechanical issues with the Harriott II, the Sunday Blues Cruise has been canceled.

Senior (55+) Harriott II Riverboat Cruise
Join us for a relaxing lunch cruise aboard the Harriott II Riverboat!

Date: September 30
Time: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: 200 Coosa St.
Cost: $12.50 per person
Ages: 55+

Seniors ages 55 and older are invited to enjoy a peaceful mid‑day cruise with friends and fellow community members. Boarding begins at 11:30 AM, and the boat will cruise from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Lunch will be provided onboard.

Space is limited. Please call 334-625-2300 to register by September 25 to reserve your spot.

Join the Alabama River Foundation for the Riverfront Rendezvous 2026. It will be a fun-filled, hands-on environmental education experience at Riverfront Park in downtown Montgomery! This exciting two-day event brings together hundreds of youth, families, community organizations, and river partners to celebrate, explore, and learn about the incredible Alabama River.
What to Expect:
Participants will enjoy an interactive day packed with river adventures, educational experiences, and outdoor fun including:
✅ Boat Rides on the Alabama River
Experience Montgomery from the water with guided river cruises and educational tours.
🐍 Live Animal Encounters
Get up close with snakes, turtles, reptiles, and wildlife presentations.
🎣 Fishing with Montgomery Police Athletic League (MPAL)
Learn fishing basics, river safety, and spend time outdoors with local officers.
🦺 Water Safety Demonstrations
Hands-on activities including life jacket fittings, knot tying, life ring toss, fire safety, and boating safety education.
🌎 Environmental & Watershed Education
Interactive exhibits focused on river conservation, wildlife, water quality, and protecting our natural resources.
🚶 Nature & Riverfront Exploration
Discover Montgomery’s riverfront while learning about trails, recreation, and the importance of the Alabama River.
