💗 The Hope Place in Monticello is making a difference in the lives of local families!

This pregnancy resource center provides support, encouragement, and practical resources to help families prepare for pregnancy, birth, and parenthood.

Families can find:

* 👶 Childbirth classes
* 🍼 Lactation classes
* ❤️ Parenting classes
* 🛍️ The opportunity to shop for needed baby items

The Hope Place is a wonderful resource for families in our community, providing not only essential items and education, but also a place of encouragement and support.

Want to help support their mission? 💕 Celebrate Every Heartbeat Fundraiser is coming up August 22 at Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church. There will be a silent auction, baggo tournament, and dinner!

Let’s show The Hope Place some love and support the work they’re doing for families in our community! 💗

Once all the entries are received, a map will be sent out so families can enjoy all the lights also!

Close your eyes for just a moment... ✨

Imagine piling into the car with the people you love most.

A cup of hot chocolate in your hand.
Your favorite Christmas songs playing.
The kids pointing out their favorite decorations as you slowly drive through neighborhoods glowing with thousands of Christmas lights.

That's the kind of Christmas memory we want to create right here in Monticello.

This year, we're inviting every homeowner and every business to help make our town shine during the Monticello Light Fight!
🏡 Decorate your home.
🏢 Decorate your business.
✨ Invite your neighbors to join in!

Every registered participant will receive a FREE Light Fight yard sign, and we'll create an interactive online Christmas Light Map so families can easily find every display.

🏆 Awards will be presented for:
🎄 Best Neighborhood
🏡 Best Home
🏢 Best Business

Plus, the community will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite display with our People's Choice Award!

For months, we've been dreaming, planning, and creating what we hope will be our most magical Christmas season yet.

Over the next week, we'll be sharing exciting announcements about this year's holiday events, along with a few brand-new traditions we hope our community will love.

From Santa's arrival to sparkling lights, Christmas markets, special family events, and maybe even something we've never done before... we can't wait to share it all with you.

Would your family pay to ice skate in Monticello this Christmas?

One of our goals for Home for the Holidays 2026 and the holiday season is to create traditions that families will look forward to year after year.

We're exploring the possibility of bringing a synthetic ice skating rink to McCloy Park and would love your honest feedback before moving forward.

Here's what we're considering:
• Potential Dates: December 17–20
• Potential Admission: $12–15 per person for a one-hour skating session
• 30 skaters per session to provide the best experience
• Online reservations with waiver completed during ticket purchase to keep people moving and no lines.
• Skate sizes: Toddler Size 6 through Adult Size 12
• Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult
• Hot Chocolate & Coffee

We're also considering a Special Event on Saturday morning from 9:00–11:00 AM featuring a surprise guest, children's activities, music, and a magical holiday experience. Tickets for this event would be sold separately by the organization hosting it.

This is NOT a final announcement. Before we make this investment, we want to know if our community would support it.

What an incredible night at our Fireworks & Food Trucks Fest 2026! 🇺🇸🎆

To everyone who came out to enjoy the amazing food, live entertainment, family fun, and a spectacular fireworks show—thank you! Seeing our community come together, filling the complex with laughter, smiling faces, and hometown pride made this event one to remember.

A huge thank you to our food truck vendors, volunteers, sponsors, city staff, first responders, and everyone who helped make the evening such a success. Your hard work made it possible for our community to celebrate together safely and have an unforgettable time.

Most of all, thank you to the thousands of people who came out to celebrate with us. The incredible turnout was a reminder of what makes Monticello such a special place.
