🍦 White County Foodie Adventures: A Sweet Monticello Tradition

This week, our adventure takes us to Monticello for a stop that’s as sweet as it gets: An Extra Scoop.

An Extra Scoop became part of owner Felicity David’s journey in 2022, shortly after graduating high school, when she stepped into ownership and turned a big opportunity into a true passion. What started as a leap forward quickly grew into something meaningful, a place designed for the community to gather, slow down, and enjoy a little joy in every visit.

The heart of An Extra Scoop is simple: ice cream should be fun, generous, and memorable. That shows up in every detail, from rotating flavors to creative, over-the-top treats that keep customers coming back to see what’s new. And yes, the extra scoop is very real, and always worth it.

One of the most rewarding parts of the shop has been watching it become part of people’s routines and memories. Families stop in to celebrate small wins, friends catch up over cones and cups, and regulars are always greeted like familiar faces. It’s a space built to feel welcoming, creative, and just a little different from the ordinary ice cream stop.

If you’re in Monticello, it’s more than worth a visit, it’s a place made for sweet moments and second scoops.

🌮White County Foodie Adventures: Cinco de Mayo Edition🍹

This week’s stop brings us to Monon and a local favorite that has already made its mark on the community, Agave Azul. And with today being Cinco de Mayo, it feels like the perfect moment to highlight a place known for bold flavors and a festive atmosphere.

Agave Azul is a family-owned Mexican restaurant that has become a steady go-to in town, serving up authentic dishes in a space that blends tradition with warmth. The building itself has been thoughtfully transformed into a colorful and inviting dining experience, complete with hand-painted tables, vibrant wall décor, and an energy that immediately sets the tone for a good meal.

Guests often talk about the welcoming service and the effort the staff puts into making everyone feel taken care of. The menu features a wide range of classic Mexican favorites, with highlights like chicken Acapulco, flavorful refried beans, and refreshing horchata.
