We wanted middle schoolers to have an experience that’s uniquely theirs. Plus, when they’re ready for Montreat Youth Conference, Montreat can feel like a brand-new adventure!

With its connection to the PC(USA), beautiful campus, and welcoming community, Maryville College is the perfect partner. We’re so grateful for the special relationship between Maryville and Montreat and the incredible space it creates for middle schoolers to gather, grow, and have fun!

Every great event needs a great theme! During The Manna Retreat 2027, we'll focus on "Tending the Wild: Cultivating Beloved Community in a Landscaped World."

During previous gatherings of The Manna Retreat, we've talked about being lost in the wilderness. But what if the wilderness isn't a place apart from the garden, but the garden's truest form? This January, we'll explore together how belonging is grown through deep listening, honest seeking, and the practice of offering our whole selves to one another.

Rev. Pam Driesell will be joining us as a keynoter for Montreat Youth Conference during weeks 1 and 2.

Pam is married to Joe, and they have four adult children. They love to spend time together with family and friends on a small island in Maine, where they hike, kayak, read, talk politics and religion, culture and psychology, literature and the arts; sing and dance, cook and eat together, gaze at the stars, marvel at the light, and give thanks!

In addition to several other leaders, we are very excited to welcome Rev. Christopher Lee as our keynoter for Middle School Conference 2027! Christopher is the executive presbyter of Grace Presbytery in Dallas, TX and is no stranger to Montreat. (You might remember him from Montreat Youth Conference 2025!) We are excited for Christopher to share his playfulness, prophetic imagination, and down-to-earth humility in Maryville next summer!
