Happy 2026, everyone!

As many of you know, we traditionally do a weeklong "Ultimate Car Lover's Trip" in September that includes private tours of the Porsche and Audi factories, Porsche, Audi and Sinsheim museums, Hockenheimring, two days at the Nurburgring (where you get to drive the legendary Nordschleife in properly prepped cars), and two days in beautiful and historic Nuremberg. We have been leading these trips since 2013.

We have been asked to consider the possibility of doing a track-only trip in 2026 or 2027, for those who would only want to focus on driving the Nordschleife (three full days) and Spa (one full day). Total trip length would be a week as well, and will include some additional adventures, but the focus is on track driving.

We are happy to consider running either trip this year, but wanted to gauge interest. The traditional trip runs around $10K per couple, while the track-only one is expected to run around $15K per person (double occupancy - sharing a car and a room).

So, if you're seriously interested in joining us for an epic once-in-a-lifetime adventure in 2026 or 2027, send me a note at [email protected], indicating which trip(s) and which year(s) you are interested in. We'll then proceed based on interest levels.

One day, two legendary tracks.

In the morning, the Hockenheimring, where we had a backstage tour and visited the pits for the historic races going on.

Evening was lapping the granddaddy of them all, the legendary Nordschleife at the Nurburgring.

I tried a different car this time…Toyota Supra GR, which was loads of fun. A little wet, but mostly in the dry, and with very few on the track.

Loads of fun. Got back into full attack mode by lap three.

Sorry, Disney, this is the happiest place on earth!

BIG UPDATE! Dates for our Germany Trip are finalized as September 25-Oct 2! We will visit the Porsche and Audi factories, the Porsche, Audi and Mercedes museums, Sinsheim museum, Nurburgring and Hockenheimring behind the scenes tours, two evening sessions lapping the Nordschleife in an expertly prepared car, and a full day of touring historic Nuremberg.

We stay at wonderful boutique hotels and dine at intimate restaurants the big groups can't use. All tours are private, too!

Pricing is $6K single, $9K for a couple – includes all lodging, meals, tours, rental ‘Ring track car, etc.).

Your rental car for touring around and flights are your responsibility (many use points for these). Everything else is included!

We have narrowed down the dates for our Germany Trip for 2023 to the range of September 3-13. Precise dates to follow as we work with the Porsche and Audi factories and museums, the Nurburgring, and other sites we plan on visiting.

What we do need at this point is to get an accurate count of participants, so we can proceed with booking with all of our partners in Germany, and get final pricing. It’s our goal to hold the line on pre-pandemic pricing if at all possible ($5K single, $8K for a couple – includes all lodging, meals, tours, rental ‘Ring track car, etc.). Your rental car for touring around and flights are your responsibility (many use points for these).

Join us for our 2023 Winding Road Adventures Germany Trip.

It’s been a tough past few years, but we are moving full steam ahead for September of 2023 and hope you’re all ready to return to travel.

Our first order of business is to assemble a list of who’s interested in potentially joining us, so please send a message indicating interest. When you do that, if you’d also indicate which of the following approximate dates you’d be interested in.

We are looking at the following options:

Sept 3-10

Sept 6-13

Sept 23-30

Remember that we do all private tours, staying at terrific boutique hotels, and great smaller places for dinner. This is not like other tours with dozens of people, and stopping at big chains. It’s personal and exclusive – which is how we find folks like it.

If interested, we are working on offering the option of a River cruise in cooperation with our friend Rob Provost.

Capacity is limited, so when and if you’d like to reserve a spot, a refundable $1K deposit is all it takes. We are working out costs, but intend to try to keep as closely in line with our pre-pandemic pricing of $8K per couple, and $5K for a single, as we can. Once we have an idea of our group size, we will be able to begin negotiations and arrangements with our providers along the way. The trip is all-inclusive, with the exception of your flights and rental car (as we all have our favorite vendors for those, and maybe even points to use).
