"If you want to know how you can support conservation efforts, ask us!
We are all about conservation and community efforts, in fact, we are founders of Uganda Wildlife - a conservation not-for-profit that works in Uganda to help communities which in turn help the conservation of animals.
For example, some of our projects are building “Lion Bomas”. A boma means house, and our bomas are built in communities surrounding the national parks, for communities to house their goats, sheep, cattle etc, to protect them from predators.
This is important in Africa, because if a community loses a goat they lose their food, and often retaliation takes place where that community member would go and kill the lion.
Other projects that we get involved with are building classrooms, buying desks for schools in the communities surrounding the national park, or training women how to bead, carve, and weave so that they are able to sell their wares and look after their families.
There are so many ways to get involved and be a part of change. And, just by going to Africa, you are helping to support wildlife and community conservation efforts."
