It's On!!!!!!!
2nd Annual KSYM Fly-In & Car Show
Planes, Cars and Community Day 2026!
Morehead-Rowan County Airport (KSYM)
September 12, 2026
Saturday morning will kick off the event with Huey Helicopter Rides, Airplane rides, and tandem parachute jumps, beginning at 9:00 a.m., and continuing until near sunset.
Gates will open at 8:00 a.m. for Car Show participants.
Opening ceremonies will take place at 11:00 a.m. beginning with the National Anthem, flying in of the flag by The West Virginia Skydivers Group, and live stage music.
Hot Air Balloon rides (tethered) are highly dependent on mild winds, and will likely take place later in the day as winds typically diminish.
The remainder of the day will include aircraft and car show judging with awards, powered parachute rides, a kid’s zone with bouncy houses, pilot competitions, live stage entertainment, food & merch vendors stationed around the facility, and an amazing formation flying demonstration by our friends at Smoke On Aviation!
We expect some really cool aircraft & cars from around, and beyond, our region to show up for the public’s viewing pleasure. We will provide continuous revolving (handicap equipped) transportation from and to our remote parking areas.
As an added treat, our Kentucky National Guard post will be on hand with military static displays and an inflatable obstacle course for the kiddos, coupled with the amazing Viet Nam reenactors setup from our Rowan County Veterans Museum!
We’ll wrap Saturday up with a spectacular evening Hot Air Balloon Glow-Flight of up to ten balloons launched into the skies above the airport!
All this, followed by an airport social for our flying visitors, sponsors and volunteers who choose to wing camp, spend the night in one of our local motels, or just hang out for more food, music, games and a good night movie on the big screen.
Although our airport’s primary mission is to enhance commerce opportunities for the region, we feel it is imperative to give back to the community we serve in this fashion as a great opportunity to provide fellowship, a sense of community and fun for everyone!

We (especially our resident "Greeters", Wiz & Lilli) were thrilled to host this delightful group of Eagles fans for their trip to Little Rock; a couple of which were spotted on the evening news after the Win!
