When Don Rickles passed away in 2017, he hadn’t recorded any new lines for Toy Story 4 yet.

Rather than replace him, Pixar honored his legacy by using 25 years of old recordings from previous movies, theme parks, games, and more.

They carefully edited his classic voice so Mr. Potato Head stayed exactly the same. The film was dedicated in his memory. ❤️

Today we’re celebrating Jessie, the spirited cowgirl who has captured the hearts of Toy Story fans around the world.
Described by Disney Parks as “the roughest, toughest cowgirl in the West,” Jessie first rode into action in 1999’s Toy Story 2 as a vintage pull-string cowgirl doll from the classic Woody’s Roundup television show. Voiced by Joan Cusack, Jessie quickly became one of Pixar’s most beloved characters thanks to her fearless personality, endless energy, and unforgettable emotional depth.
Although Jessie is always ready for adventure, her story is also one of Pixar’s most touching. Once cherished by a little girl named Emily, Jessie experienced the heartbreak of being outgrown and left behind. The emotional “When She Loved Me” sequence remains one of the franchise’s most powerful moments, revealing the vulnerability behind her cheerful smile.
