A few honest things we wish more property owners heard before they learned them the hard way.

Your listing photos are not your product. Your guest experience is. The photos get the click. Everything after that is what keeps you competitive.

Vacancy isn’t your biggest problem. A poorly run property that gets booked is a bigger threat to your revenue and your reviews than a few slow nights.

And you cannot maintain a 5-star rating through automation alone. Systems matter and we use them. But guests can tell when nobody actually cares about the space they’re staying in.

The properties that win long term are the ones that treat the home like an investment, not just a listing.

The properties we get called in to help aren’t always the obvious ones.

A lot of them are booking regularly. The reviews are decent. The owner isn’t panicking. On the surface, it looks fine.

But when you actually look at the numbers, the nightly rate is too low, the listing isn’t converting the way it should, maintenance is reactive instead of proactive, and there’s no real strategy behind how it’s being run.

That gap between “doing okay” and “performing well” is where we do our best work.

We listened to podcasts, joined a team, went to a conference, joined a mastermind, then joined multiple masterminds, went to meetups, hosted educational meetups, and networked with realtors and other investors. We continue to plug in with industry experts and investors.

What’s your version of a perfect slow day? Fishing, hiking, doing absolutely nothing? Tell us below. 👇

Stanly’s family flew in from Guatemala City just to unplug. 🌿

Fishing off the dock. Kayaks on the water. Dinner on the deck. S’mores waiting for them when they arrived, because we think about those things before guests have to ask.

That last part matters to us. The small things already in place when you get here. Because those are the details people talk about on the flight home.
