Today is all about celebrating the joy of reading and the lifelong love of books.
Happy First Day of School!

Families across Kentucky are building memories through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, one story at a time. From silly rhymes to timeless classics, each book opens a door to connection, imagination, and growth.

Here are a few beloved titles from the Imagination Library collection:

The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy is still accepting submissions for their Literacy Everywhere Contest to celebrate family literacy across America.

Family literacy means spending time reading, learning, and playing together – anywhere and anytime! A family can include parents, grandparents, siblings, caregivers, or anyone who joins in.

Submit any of the following:

A photo showing how your family reads, learns, or plays together
A video showing how your family reads, learns, or plays together
A drawing or painting showing how your family reads, learns, or plays together
Include a caption (3-5 sentences) to describe your photo, video, or artwork.

You could win $1,000 in cash and a trip to the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy's National Celebration of Reading in Washington, D.C.

Submissions are due September 12, 2025.

🐟Story Hour Schedule for August.🐠
Story Hour in the morning at 10AM. Story Hour is a free program for children ages 3, 4 and 5 years old. This is in the back room of the library. Join us as we read Rainbow Fish stories in the morning, play a game and make a craft to take home.
