San Gorgonio Wilderness Outfitters is a professional California based outfit that was founded from the passion to hunt and the enjoyment of sharing this with others. We offer hunts for Desert Bighorn Sheep, Mule Deer, and Bear in California and Nevada. Everything possible is done to insure our clients a successful and memorable hunt. Throughout the year we scout the different ranges for the best p

Guiding and outfitting since 1984 and my 20 plus years of ranching on the East side of the San Bernardino Mountains has given me the opportunity to enjoy the wildlife more than the average person. This experience allowed me to work with the California Fish & Game since 1989 on a deer and desert bighorn sheep study. I spent 3 years of that employed by the Fish & Game as a scientific/seasonal aide. The data obtained allowed the first Desert Bighorn hunt to occur in the San Gorgonio Mountains in over I00 years in 1996/97. The field study allowed me to work in other hunting zones, participate in bighorn sheep and deer captures, aerial surveys, and daily fieldwork.

I, his family, fellow fire fighters, dear friends lost this exceptional man today while performing his fire fighter duties. For 21 years Andrew Pontious and I have spent the fall and winter months hunting deer, bear, and sheep. Hunting was his passion. Andrew helped make San Gorgonio Wilderness Outfitters successful for all the right reasons. He saved my life in the White Mountains. Supports Wild Life conservation while spending his off days repairing water sources and checking on the sheep. Andrew was a son to me and I will miss him so much. He and Kim have been such a joy to have in our lives. There aren't enough words to tell you the love I and my wife have for this man. My heart is broken. Please keep Kim, his parents, his brother in your hearts and prayers.
Rest in peace my son, I will miss you so much.
