A little Morris history for your timeline! 👀

The Wadsworth Trail marker in East Side Park was placed by the Wadsworth Trail Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1929.

The trail itself was established by the U.S. government in 1864 as a supply route between St. Cloud and Fort Wadsworth—later renamed Fort Sisseton—in Dakota Territory. Soldiers, traders, settlers and gold seekers traveled the rugged wagon trail, helping shape early settlement and commerce throughout Stevens County.

You can still see the marker today in East Side Park—a community gathering place that also hosts local events throughout the year. Be sure to look for it the next time you’re in Morris!
