Tonight's Scout meeting was held at out the Morrisonville Park. After the regular business was conducted we got to have a little down time.

To our friends and neighbors within the North Mac Communities:

Bags that are being left at houses in both Virden and Girard for next Saturday's Scouting for Food collection.

Our local Cub Scouts are going around Virden and a couple of older scouts are going around Girard handing out or leaving bags at houses in both communities.

If you received a bag or even if you didn't receive a bag, just leave a bag of non-perishable food items on your front porch or front step on Saturday, March 22nd by 9:00am where the scouts can see it as they go around the towns. They will pick up the bags and all the food that is left out for the scouts will be donated to our local NM communities food pantries.

The scouts won't be able to hit every house, but that doesn't mean you can't participate. Some individuals may even find bags that are not from this year. Just note that we are using up some extra bags that were not used in previous years, but the COLLECTION DATE WILL BE MARCH 22, 2025.

Last night Kaleb and Kathryn joined other 2024 Eagle Scouts from both their Troop 74 along with other troops within the Abraham Lincoln Council for the 2024 Eagle Scout Recognition dinner and program which was held at the Illinois State Capitol last night.

Kaleb along with another Eagle Scout presented the flags. Kathryn was the Eagle Scout this year to give the Class Response.

During the presentation portion of last night, both Kaleb and Kathryn received $500 scholarships and as a result of Kathryn giving the class response she was presented with a Keepsake box. All Eagle Scouts and their sponsors were given a backpack.
