Update on status of Jamaica's recovery.

On November 4, 2025, the U.S. government will operate a bus for U.S. citizens that will depart from the U.S. Consular Agency in Montego Bay, Jamaica, to the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica. The bus will depart at 12:00 p.m. on November 4, 2025. The U.S. government is not planning additional buses at this time, so you will need to make your own travel arrangements after this shuttle departs Montego Bay. Please email [email protected] as soon as possible to RSVP for each member of your party with name, date of birth, and citizenship status. Further details on the bus are below.
Flights from Montego Bay (Sangster International Airport)
Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport is open for limited commercial operations. Confirm your flight status with your airline before traveling to any airport to prevent unnecessary congestion. Montego Bay Airport officials continue to provide updates on Facebook (). We strongly recommend only traveling during daytime hours.
Be Prepared
U.S. citizens waiting outside Sangster Airport for their flights, where reported entry is not permitted until boarding time, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure due to high temperatures and limited shade, which may pose health risks.
Flights from Kingston (Norman Manley International Airport)
Kingston’s Norman Manley International Airport is open for commercial operations. If you are in the Montego Bay area, you may be able to find a flight out of Kingston instead. Private transportation is available to get from Montego Bay to Kingston. Exercise caution if you choose to travel by land. We strongly recommend only traveling during daytime hours. If you travel to Kingston without a confirmed flight, plan to make hotel arrangements until you have a confirmed departure. There are multiple private transportation options over land from Montego Bay to Kingston and/or Ocho Rios available, including:
Jamaica Taxi: 876-810-6056
Knutsford Express: 876-953-9847
Jamaica Exquisite Transfer and Tour: 954-832-2317
Sunny Tours Jamaica: 876-454-5831
If you are unable to depart on a commercial flight and need assistance, please contact the U.S. Department of State using the contact information listed at the end of this message.
U.S. GOVERNMENT BUS TO PEGASUS HOTEL IN KINGSTON, JAMAICA
On November 4, 2025, the U.S. government will operate a bus for U.S. citizens that will depart from the U.S. Consular Agency in Montego Bay, Jamaica, located at Whitter Village, 1091 Morgan Road, Montego Bay, Jamaica. The exact amount that passengers will be billed to reimburse the cost of travel cannot be determined with certainty at this time. However, the amount a passenger will be billed will not exceed the estimated cost of travel from Montego Bay to Kingston of $23.
If you are transported by bus, you have the option to stay at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, where space has been set aside in the ballroom for you to take shelter. Please note that individual hotel rooms will not be provided, and the convention center is currently being used as a shelter. We plan to provide chairs and cots for your comfort. However, if you prefer to stay elsewhere, you may make your own reservations at any of the hotels in Kingston that currently have room availability.
Please email [email protected] as soon as possible and provide the following for each of the passengers in your group:
1. Name
2. Citizenship

The U.S. government is not planning additional buses at this time, so you will need to make your own travel arrangements after this shuttle departs Montego Bay. Please note that the U.S. Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica, and the U.S. Consular Agency in Montego Bay, Jamaica, have cancelled all routine American Citizens Services (ACS) and visa appointments the week of November 3, 2025, in order to assist with this effort.
