8/21- 9:30am Trip:

We had a sunny start to this morning’s trip. The harbor is notoriously foggy in the morning so the bright start was a nice change! We were lucky to spot a sea otter on our way out of the harbor and didn’t have too far of a boat ride until we came across some . We spent the first half of our trip traveling with a cow/calf pair. We then shifted over to a large cooperative feeding group of and sea lions. There were blows everywhere we looked. We spent our remaining trip with these before heading back to the harbor.

Here's a great video featuring some epic tail throws next to the boat shot by naturalist 📸 Marget Johnson showing some of the amazing activity from this past weekend!

It was a pretty overcast morning on the . We traveled several miles to find some right at the edge of a fog bank. We were lucky to see several today, some grouped in pairs, including a mom/calf pair. There were big rafts of sea lions intermixed with our doing some subsurface feeding. The calf we met was engaging in a lot of surface splashing like tail throws. We were also fortunate to witness a very close surface and swim-by of the mom/calf pair right next to the bow of our boat . It was a great day for on the bay!

The whale activity lately has been unreal. Every single trip over the past few days have been riddled with an abundance of feeding behaviors. We’ve been watching 15-20 humpback whales feasting alongside hundred of California sea lions. This is the PERFECT time to get out on the water. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the late summer has in store for us!
