Meet Gary Chilton, one of the friendly faces welcoming visitors to Mount Airy! 👋

As one of our Visitor Information Specialists, Gary is always ready to share recommendations, local stories and a little Mayberry hospitality. And when he’s not helping visitors at the Visitor Center, you might find him cruising around town giving tours with Squad Car Tours or making music with the Almost Irish Band! 🎶🚔

From Mayberry history to local music, Gary knows a thing or two about what makes Mount Airy special. We’re glad to have him as part of the Visit Mayberry team!

The Mayberry Days World Championship of The Andy Griffith Show Trivia returns today at 4:30 PM! From easy Mayberry memories to those little details only the biggest TAGS fans remember, this is your chance to put your knowledge to the test.

And don’t let age stop you—fans of ALL ages are welcome to sign up and compete! Last year’s champion, Lillie Lobb, showed everyone that Mayberry knowledge knows no age limit!

🎠 Fair week is here in Surry County! 🎡

The Surry County Agricultural Fair returns to Veterans Memorial Park September 22–26! From midway rides and fair food to family fun and entertainment, it’s a fall tradition you won’t want to miss. 🍿🎟️🎠

🇺🇸 Wednesday – Veterans Night: Veterans receive FREE gate admission with military ID for a family of up to 4 people.

🚗 Thursday – Car Load Day: $40 per car (maximum 8 people) includes gate admission, entertainment AND unlimited ride armbands!

🎡 Wednesday & Thursday | 5–10 PM
