We spent the last 2 days exploring Brussels. We had no definitive plans except for a chocolate making class. The Toot bus (hop on & off bus) was a good way to explore Brussels city center, Atomium and the northern region.

Brussels is home to the European Union and NATO. Surprisingly 220,000 expats live in Brussels center and work for or are tied to the EU & NATO. This has interjected billions into their economy. (Causing a divide between affluent expats and locals).

Brussels is also known to be the capital for Comic Books and home to the Smurfs. There are a lot of comic book murals around the city.
As for Belgian chocolate, well it’s delicious just don’t ask them what they think about Hersheys 👀 They don’t mince their words.

Took the Eurostar to Brussels Sunday evening. This was not very well planned and researched but with patience and reading the signs we made it to Brussels and our hotel. Yesterday we took a day trip to Ghent and Bruges. Bruges has certainly stopped in time and beautiful 💙 Bruges is the only city I know of with a beer pipeline 🍻Brussels is known for beer, Belgian fries, chocolate and waffles. A carb lovers dream.

Last morning in London was spent exploring Notting Hill and re-visiting Parliament Square.
Notting Hill, famous for its colorful homes, boutiques and antiques did not disappoint. It was busy today but in August over 2 million people will visit while they host their carnival to celebrate Caribbean culture and Black diasporic history.

Parliament Square was bustling with bikers, tourists and peaceful protesters for Pakistan.

A few tips when visiting London, be respectful so you’re less disruptive to the natives (advice from Londoners)
1-learn to use the underground, it will be the quickest most economical way to see the city. (Note there will be steps, escalators and lifts will not be available at every station, so if that’s an issue, extra time and planning will be needed)
2-be prepared to walk and walk, wear comfy shoes and don’t just stop in your tracks when walking, move to the side
3-stand to the right on escalators and let people pass on the left
4-know the tipping culture-as to not offend
5-don’t be loud in the restaurants, the people around you don’t need to hear your conversations
We witnessed all these things and some. Please remember to be a kind guest in other countries. 💙

Beautiful day in London☀️ Had a delicious lunch at the Black Dog, window shopping in Covenant Garden area and the much anticipated Harry Styles concert. Spent the evening with 90,000 of my closest friends 😂
Giving credit to the Brits, they know how to move 90,000 people in and out of a stadium and control ticket prices. Harry put on a great show.
Spending tomorrow morning exploring a bit and then headed to Brussels via the train. Stay tuned for more adventures ❤️

I took a group of more than 70 people to Alaska and we enjoyed unusually beautiful weather. The helicopter ride to the glacier was the highlight of the trip. It was a challenge, but we managed to get most of the group together for a photo. I found myself checking attendance like an elementary school teacher😂
